I turned around slowly and looked around at the thing I created, observing ever so closely. I lightly poked it with my index finger and it made a satisfying pop. The bubble around us exploded into nothingness.

I outstretched my hand to Izuku and propped him up on my shoulder for support. As I walked him to the nurse's office, countless faces stared at us, eyes boring into my wall of confidence. Some look accusing, while others curious.

"What happened?!" the nurse asked, concerned wrinkles tightening on her face.

"Kac-"

"It was an accident." Izuku interrupted, cutting me off.

I gave him a surprised glance.

Why didn't he say the truth? Why didn't he tell on Kacchan?

Izuku gave me a small shake of his head before the nurse directed him to a small bench next to the medical supplies cabinet. "You may go." The nurse said as she started rubbing alcohol for his cuts.

I went out of the door and pondered about what just happened.

Then it hit me. Izuku considered Kacchan a friend. He looked up to him. He wouldn't snitch, much less stop admiring him.

But why? I don't understand. Why would he look up to someone like that?!

I pondered this and unconsciously made it back to my classroom faster than I anticipated.

I walked into the room with dozens of faces looking at me. I nervously stopped, but Mrs. Akri greeted me with a smile brighter than the sun. "You got your quirk!" She applauded. "The nurse informed me about it! Just like your mother! A forcefield!"

Some of the other kids around me applauded and I couldn't help but feel a small smile creep up on my face. "Yeah, just like my mom's," I repeated in a bit of a dazed faze.

"Mind if you show the class?" Mrs. Akari asked.

I nodded and closed my eyes.

Come on, you can do this!

I reopened them, just to be met with disappointment. Nothing happened.

I closely examined my hands and shook them violently. The class was dead silent.

"Just give it some time." Mrs. Akari said patiently.

"I bet (Y/N) doesn't even have a quirk." Someone murmured.

"Mhm, I bet it's a lie." Another said

"The nurse is super old. Maybe it was someone else."

My head snapped at the direction of the accusers. "I have one! You'll see!" I yelled as my temperature started to boil. I clenched my fists and something felt sticky. A sly grin curved the ends of my lips.

I proved them all wrong.

It felt absolutely great.

The class, as well as Mrs. Akari, gasped in shock.

I grinned bigger as I formed the purplish-black forcefield around me. Mrs. Akari walked forward and knelt down; touching it. Admiring my quirk with such genuine surprise.

"A forcefield... like your mother's! And the essence of matter... just like your father! Two completely different quirks made into one. One to protect and one to create."

She stood up slowly with a face full of wonder. "And if I'm correct, it reacts under strong emotions."

I nodded slowly, taking it all in. That seemed to make sense.

"Yeah, I guess so." I said as I popped my forcefield.

Mrs. Akari clapped her hands again, "Well, however it works, it's wonderful! I am very happy for you. I'm going to call Ms. Hayle right now and tell her the great news!"

My face dropped.

"Uh... no it's ok! You don't have to. She doesn't care."

Mrs. Akari looked at me in surprise. "Why wouldn't she care? This is very exciting news! Especially with a late bloomer like you."

She then telepathically got her school phone and dialed the number to the orphanage. I sadly shrugged and walked over to my table and sat down at my desk. Kids around me looked confused with emotions, but some seemed to reconsider my existence.

Well, for now, they did.
