She smiled sympathetically, but I could tell that she felt bad. Pitiful, even. What was worse was that now I could tell that she knew who I really was.
Clothes and a new hairdo could only do so much to hide an identity.
I was considered famous due to my parent's death, but being famous doesn't necessarily mean it in a good way. No, not really...
*Flashback*
"Mom!" Can you please turn off my light?"
"...Mom?"
CRASH
"Mom?! D-dad?!"
"(Y/N)! Get out of here!"
BOOM
"N-no, Mom! I don't want to leave you!"
"There's no time!"
"NO!"
*End Flashback*
I tried my best not to think about it, to keep it out of my mind and push it into the depths of my memories. There, it would still remain. But it didn't hurt as much as it did before.
A newspaper went out about the famous hero, Mrs. Invincible, and how she had perished in the fire. My dad, Dark Phase, was there too.
But the news wasn't about sympathy for a caring and loving father, it was about the traitorous acts of a villain. There was a suspicion on him starting the fire in an attempt of murder and suicide.
After all, before they were married, he was a well known villain. Again, I tried to keep it out of my train of thought. Whenever it resurfaced I found myself unnecessarily angry.
I returned my attention to Izuku's mom, who had successfully waved for a taxi to take me to the orphanage.
I hopped into the back seat with them and stared out the window longingly. Skyscrapers and multiple shops passed by and I could feel my eyelids getting heavy. In matter of seconds I fell asleep, and the drive there seemed to make time stop.
