Marcia, Cherry and I pushed past the crowds as we tried to find Bob and Randy. I was leaning on Cherry's shoulder to prevent myself from tripping over my two feet.
There was a huge crowd of people huddling in the center of the bar with loud grunts and cheers coming from the middle.
"Great. This is perfect. A fight is just what we needed." Cherry scoffed, as she watched socs and greasers go at it.
Just then, there was a loud cop siren sounding outside the bar. Both greasers and socs jumped up immediately and most went running outside to their cars.
Gazing at the few who were getting up, I saw it was the boy with the ocean blue eyes. He had this wild glint in his eyes with a wide smile, as if getting in trouble with the law or fighting with a bunch of other boys didn't faze him. Like the world could just collapse into total and utter chaos and he'd be running amongst it without a care in the world.
He turned and looked at me then, he winked at me as he got up, his smile never fading from his face.
Before I could say anything, Cherry shoves at my shoulder."C'mon, fuzz is here. We gotta go, Bob and Randy will meet us at the car."
Looking away from him, I nodded my head as I looped my hand into hers as to prevent me from falling on my face in my attempt to get back to the car.
Walking back to that blue Cadillac, oddly enough, I couldn't get the beautiful boy with wild eyes out of my head. I don't know what made it so, but it was hard to ignore.
Maybe I should've.
