"Jac I have a cuppa for you" Sacha knocked on her bedroom door. "Time to get up love"
"Emma's up, I'll take her to school "
"You're a lifesaver Sach thank you"
Jac felt more fuzzy headed than she had when she was up in the middle of the night
She hauled herself out of bed and into the shower
She stood for a few minutes just letting the warm water run in rivulets down her body
What I wouldn't give for the warm water to be replaced by the hands of a certain DoN
Stop it Naylor
Eventually she was ready for work and whatever life threw at her there. She also knew she had to apologise to Fletch.
The ward was quiet when she walked in and she managed to make it to her office without speaking to anyone.
Frieda knocked on the door of her office
"Come in"
"Ms Naylor we have a case coming up from the ED that needs emergency surgery. Are you free to scrub in?"
"Yes of course, I'll be right there"
Apologising to Fletch would have to wait. Exiting her office she pretty much walked into him. They just looked at each other and walked off. Reading over the ED report at the nurse's station her gaze was once again drawn to him. He glanced back at her. He looked so hurt and slowly turned away from her.
Jac's heart clenched, knowing that she was the cause of his pain. She mentally kicked herself.
Sighing she changed into her scrubs and headed for theatre with Frieda. The patient was already anaesthetised. Fletch walked in.
Brilliant
They began the operation
"Cross clamp" said Jac
"That's the most communication between you two all day"
"Silence is golden apparently" Fletch said bitterly
They finished the operation without further comment from Frieda.
"Close please Petrenko" Jac said leaving the theatre
"What's happening with you two?" She asked Fletch as they finished up
"I can honestly say absolutely nothing"
Back in her office, Jac judged that he would be out of theatre now.
Right here goes
She knocked on his office door and entered when he said "come in" in a cheery voice
"Oh" he said, the welcoming smile fading from his face
"Can I?" She said gesturing to the chair
He nodded
"Fletch I just wanted to apologise for what I said yesterday"
"For what you said or what you did?"
