Two months after the, well, incident, my birthday finally came. Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole year since I got my tattoo! I've been trying to talk to Travis all this time, but every time we tried to talk, one of us was busy and it just got awkward when we thought about that evening. But, in this 2 months, I spent more time with my friends, Miranda, Kayla, Lacy and Nysa. We had a lot of fun together.
Now..back to my birthday!
I woke up in the morning with Miranda on top of me, laughing.
-It's your birthday, Katie! Come on! Wake up!
I just groaned. But of course Miranda didn't give up. She pushed me off the bed. (PS: Miranda got her soulmate tattoo, it was a pile of candies ;)).
-Come on! You can't sleep all day!
-Try me..I muttered.
My cabin mates woke up from the noise and realized it was my birthday. They circled me so I finally had to wake up and stand up. They sang me happy birthday then they gave me gifts, mostly flowers: pansies, lilies, tulips, even some ferns! I thanked all of them for their kindness. Miranda refused to give me her gift, because "it was a surprise". I just laughed it off, thinking that maybe she forgot where she hid it or something, because I could totally see her doing that. I changed into my normal camp clothes, camouflage jeans and a CHB hoodie. I brushed my hair and my teeth than walked out. Lacy was at the door smiling.
-Happy birthday, Kates!
She hugged me tight, a kind of hug only a child of Aphrodite can give. I laughed. Then she looked me up and down with a worried expression.
-You're not going to wear this aren't you?
I looked at my normal outfit.
-What's wrong with my clothes?
-Are you completely nuts!? It's your birthday, you have to wear something special!
Then she grabbed my arm and carried me to the Aphrodite cabin. I rolled my eyes, smiling.
-Who's going to see me, anyway?
She gave me an innocent look, which I was worried about.
-Oh, come on! she insisted. I just want you to look absolutely fabulous on your 15th birthday!
-Okay, okay! I gave up.
She took me to her cabin wardrobe, which believe me, is HUGE, and made me sit down on a chair while she chose my outfit. I laughed at her attempts to choose something in my style, which is pretty casual, compared to her's. After about an hour of her making me put some fancy clothes on and me complaining that I want to wear jeans, I finally accepted to wear one of her dresses. (I don't own the picture)

I felt weird wearing it but I had to recognize that it was beautiful. Lacy squealed and hugged me as I laughed. When we walked out of the Aphrodite cabin, Nysa and Kayla appeared. They both told me happy birthday, a wide smile on both of their faces. I laughed and thanked them. They said they had a surprise for me. Miranda came and covered my eyes with a scarf. I started to laugh.
-Where are you taking me?
-It's a secret! Nysa responded, while Miranda giggled.
They basically dragged me around, and I couldn't see anything at all. I was a little scared, but I trusted my friends. After about 15 minutes of being pushed around, they finally told me to stop. I could hear Lacy squealing in the background. Kayla took the scarf away, then grinned at me.
-So? Do you like our gift?
I couldn't believe my eyes. We were in bunker 9 but...it didn't LOOK like bunker 9. There were balloons and decorations everywhere, and about 15 people looking at me, smiling. My friends from camp.
-SURPRISE! They all yelled in unison.
I was shocked. I finally understood what happened and a smile formed on my lips.
-You guys...did this for me?
The four girls nodded.
-Do you like it? Lacy asked, a little scared.
-If I like it!? I love it! Thank you so much!
I hugged them, and all my other friends joined, so it was a really big group hug. I heard Connor complaining that "he can't breath" so we broke the hug, laughing. That's when Lacy dragged Miranda, Kayla and Nysa out, saying that she needs to find some "acceptable clothes" for them. I rolled my eyes, knowing they won't be here for at least half an hour. I went to the snacks table and ate a chocolate croissant. The others in the room gave me presents, Malcolm from the Athena cabin gave me some books, Connor got me some art supplies, and so on. I was looking around the room, wondering if my friends have finally arrived, when Travis appeared, hiding something at his back.
-Happy birthday, Kit Kat!
-Don't call me that, Travis, I said, rolling my eyes, but smiling.
He gave me some of his smirks.
-What are you hiding there? I asked.
-Your gift, he says, and shows it to me.
It was a red rose. It wasn't a very big one, but it wasn't bought from somewhere. It was in a jar. So that means...
-I grew it myself, Travis says, finishing my thoughts. I knew it was your favorite flower, and I wanted this gift to be special, so I worked really hard. I know it's not very...
I cut him of giving him a sweet little kiss on his cheek. He looks surprised, but then he smiles.
-Thank you! I say, returning his smile.
That's when my four best friends burst in, Kayla screaming.
-Let's play truth or dare!
