The next morning I was woken up by Miranda.
-Come on Kates, it's really late and Chiron said that he wanted to talk to you and the other head-consolers. I think it's important.
I groaned and woke up. I looked around and I couldn't see any kind of prank. Good. I think I would have killed the Stolls if I woke up and my cabin was pranked. Especially Travis.
I don't understand why but the whole story with Michael nonexistent tattoo made me be mad at Travis. I still didn't think he was my soulmate but something inside me blamed him for all this mess. I was in a bad mood this morning. I wasn't sad, I was angry. I put on a camp half blood T-shirt and a black pair of jeans. Then I took my green jacket over the T-shirt (I don't want people to see my tattoo). I let my hair down and brushed it a little. Then I went to the Big House. Every head consoler was here, except Percy Jackson. Michael was here, so where the Stolls, and I tried to avoid all 3 of them for complete different reasons. Silena was crying her heart out. Clarisse was sitting next to her, trying to calm her down. I looked around and finally decided to take a seat next to Annabeth Chase. She looked frightened and had a frozen expression on her face. I tried giving her a shy smile, but her eyes were fixed on the door. Silena stopped crying and Percy Jackson walked in. From what I heard there was going to be a battle. The prophecy said Percy was going to die. Silence covered the room as the others tried to find different meanings to the prophecy. Percy stopped them. Annabeth looked as if she was going to cry at any moment. Clarisse argued with Michael over a flying chariot. Oh, gods, I can't believe Clarisse is thinking about that stupid chariot right now! Argh! Travis and Connor mad stupid comments and that annoyed me more. Just when I was going to yell at them to shut up, Clarisse said her cabin isn't going to fight in the war. What!? This was a disaster! And it was only the Stoll's fault! Percy told us we have a spy between us. That's when all my anger erupted. I don't know why, but I said it.
-Maybe Luke's brothers are giving him information!
The Stolls looked at me shocked. I never saw Connor looking so angry, or Travis looking so hurt. He looked awfully hurt! But at that moment I didn't care. It was his fault. Everything was his fault! The war, the spies, the fact that I couldn't be with Michael, everything! I know I'm talking nonsense but I needed to free all the anger inside me.
Travis and Connor started to yell:
-How dare you!? How can you possibly think of something like that! Have you got no shame!? Connor spat.
-You hate us, I know, but that one was way too far! Travis argued.
-I don't care! I shouted.
-STOP! Silena begged. I can't believe you're arguing like that when...when Charlie...
Then she started to cry. Clarisse shot us dagger with her eyes as she tried to calm Silena down. I felt bad and embarrassed. I looked at the ground and didn't say anything else.
~TIME SKIP~
Today was the war. I had to take all my siblings and fight. We all had to save the world. In the past weeks, 3 new kids of Demeter, some old campers, some new, came to camp. I made them sit in a line. They were ready for battle, dressed and armed. I looked at them. They were lined from the oldest to the youngest.
-Miranda Gardiner.
My sister looked at me. Her dark blond hair in a long braid and her green eyes full of life.
-Billie Mg.
The girl was 12. She had curly brown hair and black eyes.
-Max Mg.
He was Billie's twin brother. They looked almost the same.
-Tulip Brason.
Tulip was 10 and a half at the moment. She hand blonde hair and brown eyes. She looked scared, but she didn't let it show.
-Zack Jefferson.
Zack was just 8, the rule was that the campers going to war should have been at least 10. But Zack came here in camp every summer, from when he was 6, so he was well trained. He was also really tall for his age, his green eyes sparkling over his brown skin and black hair. He insisted on going to this war and, since we didn't had a lot of fighters, Chiron accepted on letting him go.
-Anissa Bennet.
She was our youngest sister. She was only 2, but since her father died, a satyr took the brown haired girl to camp. I was leaving her in Pansy's hands, a 9 years old girl from the Aphrodite cabin.
Pansy took her hand and carried her away.
-Alright, cabin 4! I started. I know we're not a lot of fighters. We're just 6, but believe me, we're a lot more numerous than in the other years. We all know our mom doesn't fall in love easily.
They nodded, a weak smile on their faces.
-We are not a lot, but we are powerful! Believe in your powers! Together we can win this war! Don't lose hope! Let's make our mother proud!
They applauded and repeated:
-Let's make our mother proud!
Then we walked to the car that was going to drive us there. There were 3.
Car number 1: Aphrodite cabin, Hephaistos cabin, Athena cabin.
Car number 2: Demeter cabin, Hermes cabin
Car number 3: Dionysus cabin, Apollo cabin
Argh, why Hermes? Even trough the car was huge and we were just 6 campers, all the seats were taken because the Hermes cabin had 16 CAMPERS COMING!
The car started moving and I was talking to Miranda about the battle, when Travis interrupted us.
-Miranda, you mind if I speak with Katie?
-No, of course not.
She just sat there waiting for Travis to say something, then she finally understood.
-AH, you meant alone! Okay, okay!
She gave Travis her chair and he sat down.
-What do you want, Travis? I asked, annoyed.
-There's no need to be rude! he responded. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for...you know, the prank.
I sighted.
-It's alright.
-And I'm sorry for the way things worked out with Michael.
-WHAT!?
My head spun so fast and I think I exclaimed a little too loud, because the whole truck looked at me. Travis put his finger at my mouth.
-Shh! Be quiet!
-Did you spy on us!? I asked silently.
-You call it spying, I call it watching from afar!
I face palmed.
-How dare you!?
-Hey, I'm sorry!
He took my hand in his, trying to apologize. Then something really weird happened. Both of our hand started glowing for a second. Then I felt as if the place from my arm where the tattoo was started burning. I put a hand on my covered arm and shrieked in pain. Travis did the same thing. Then it stopped.
-Wha...What just happened?
Light was still coming out of my tattoo.
-I have no idea! Travis said.
Then he smirked.
-Maybe we are soulmates...he whispered.
He's blue eyes sparkled mischievously and happily at the same time. His curly brown hair was as messy as ever. He leaned down to kiss me, and for a second I almost let him do it. Then I remembered Michael and I shook my head. "What got over me, he's a Stoll!" I pushed him and went to sit next to Miranda, leaving him startled. He looked sad and confused, and I felt bad for him. Then I cleared my thoughts. "Katie Gardner, you have a battle to fight. And you are certainly not falling for a Stoll!"
