Who am I?

I arrived at the pond having managed to escape the paparazzi and was sitting on the bench expecting Anna. It had just been another hectic day at school. Paparazzi gathered outside our school, trying to get a glimpse of teenage celebrities or the children of celebrities. Today, there were more secrets to keep and I haven't told anyone not even Anna. The principal had told me that a new student was arriving at the school tomorrow who I shared most classes with, except that he took art while I did music. So I am expected to sit next to him in all classes and be a guide. Perfect, I had thought, just what I needed.

I shivered as a cold wind glides across by body. Plop! Splash! Plop! Splash! I turn around expecting to see Anna there, ridiculously throwing rocks and pebbles in the pond, but she wasn't there. My eyes came across two books in the air just above the water, one slightly larger than the other. A boy with jet black hair was reaching across the pond and grabbing a book smiling excitedly. All this seemed oblivious to the gorgeous, hazel eyed guard, who was watching the pond intently. The black haired guy caught me staring and smiled at me his sapphire blue eyes boring into me. I smiled back respectfully and looked down playing with my shoes.

"Aren't you going to get yours? " A voice said and I find my self shivering again. I looked up and found a set of blue eyes looking at me.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Your book," He responded. Nodding towards the book that still hung in the air. " I can't believe we got ours at the same time in the same place. We've got to be companions."

'Companions' the word rang in my ears reminding me of what the voice in the fire said.

I realised that the book was now floating in front of me, my name embroidered on it in cursive writing. The cover and the pages were gold and the writing was a shiny, glittery silver that seemed to hover above the page. I suddenly found myself holding the book in my arms , stroking the soft velvety feel of the pages.

"I'm confused"

"Don't you know what you are? " He responded. " I am not supposed to reveal myself. But isn't that your name on the book? "

"Well, my name is Isabella Teresa Johnson not Isabella Helena Salvator" I said.

He grasped hold of my hand ...

I see two people lying dead their blood staining the white marble beneath them. Beside them crouched a little boy filled with a sliver of hope for their survival. The boy has black wavy, curly hair but his head is bowed to the ground : so I'm unable to see his eyes. Though the tears dripping on the floor show me his crying. A big, burly man with blond hair came up to him, leading him away. "I shall avenge you killers," The young boy said, his blue eyes glistening with tears."Even if it's the last thing I do"...

I find myself on the grass around the pond breathing heavily and the eye-catching blue eyed boy pulls me up.

"Are you okay? You just fell back onto the grass." He said.

I nodded and stood up using the bench as support. He lead me into the woods surrounding the pond.

"I hunt and kill spirits and demonic creatures that wander this dimension,"The boy revealed. " I assume you are one of us. I am Nathanael Zaine Lancaster"

"Hold on, are you about to attend Brookins Private High School?" I asked apprehensively, recognising his name from the principals' words.

"Erm, Yeah. I am."

"Well, then I'm your guide," I said fixing a false smile on my face. "Are you with any problems? I mean, you are talking about spirits and wandering souls." I ask, cutting straight to the chase.
