Hae-nim watched in silence as Jinheung became stronger. Strong enough to decide to finally introduce himself as the true King of Silla in front of Queen Jiso and the Ministers.
She watched in silence as Sun Woo's real identity was revealed to be Lord Hwi Kyung's son. The only other Sacred Bone qualified enough to claim the throne and be the King of Silla.
She watched in silence as Queen Jiso finally became the mother she was supposed to be to Jinheung.
She watched in silence as Jinheung fell into desperation, fearing that Sun Woo will become King and not him. He became obsessive and paranoid that he even tried to lock her inside Wolseong Palace away from everyone.
Han Sung's death was the force that pushed Hae-nim to make her own move to come in between Lord Hwi Kyung and Park Young Shil's plan to make Sun Woo the King, and not Jinheung.

Hae-nim stood before the Hwarang inside the Hwarang House with Liwen and Lu standing behind her.
"To Wolseong Palace."
The Hwarang bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty!"
Hae-nim and Sun Woo looked at each other and nodded.
Hae-nim led the Hwarang inside the throne room of Wolseong Palace. Jinheung, Queen Jiso, Lord Hwi Kyung, and the Ministers, all turned to look at them.
All you wanted was to get revenge for the unjust death of your friend, and you did not expect things will lead to this.
Sun Woo walked beside Hae-nim with the Hwarang as Queen Jiso stared at them in horror.
One thing led to another.
Hae-nim looked at Jinheung. "The Empire of China and the Hwarang have chosen a king for the future of Silla!" she said loudly and turned to the Hwarangs. "The Hwarang swear their allegiance to His Majesty who will empower Silla and who will serve the needs of the people!"
I will tell you this. I look at you and see a face of a king. I look at you and sense you can be a king. I look at you and know that you will be a great king.
The Hwarangs knelt behind Hae-nim and Sun Woo.
I look at you and know it never occurred to you to be one. I look at you and know that you never planned to become one.
