-Ash's POV-A month have passed since I started out. Lately I have been doing my work, as Doc got too busy training up Mac for the next match. I had no time to socialize with them or get along with them, pfft! Like that's ever gonna happen. The news have been spreading around and some people are already talking about it. I barely did any socializing with others besides Doc and Mac because I don't really care about the match, also something about the world circuit, not sure what that means. I'm clearly not into the boxing spirit.
I am now moving boxes of supplies into the warehouse. Sometimes Mac breaks the tools due to over using them too much. Seriously, that guy needs a break. What is he so worked up for anyway? Doesn't he know that overworking himself will only bring so much stress? ugh. There are times when I would see Mac sweating and exhausted and still push himself to do more than he can handle. He's such a hard worker, and takes it so serious.
I couldn't help but notice that the more the day of the match comes, the more I see Mac overworking himself harder. It's not like I care what he does or anything... okay maybe a little, but only because he stopped asking me questions like I told him to, and he does care about me..
There are days when I go to community service in which I help clean up around the Bronx. Honestly gotta say that I rather do work in the warehouse than the outside world... I've seen things.. Anyway that's pretty much the month that I've been through.
All I need is 5 more months to go, and I'll be free out of this place forever!
"Hey Ash!" Doc said behind me as I carried the last box.
"I know you're busy at the moment, but I wanna invite you to the match" Doc said.
Wait what?
"Me? Really?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
I put the box down in front of me and faced Doc.
"Do I need a ticket or something?" I asked.
"No no" Doc said. "Its all on me, you don't gotta pay for anything. So you down to go or not?"
Lately through the first month, Doc have been being very nice to me. Doc talks to me more than Mac. Even though I'm not into the boxing spirit, I feel rude to say no after all the kind things he have done for me.
"Uhh sure" I said.
"Good" Doc said. "Consider the day of the match yo off day, I'll call the authorities letting them know it's alright for you to come"
I stared at him for a moment.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"What?" Doc asked.
"Not to offend you but why are you being so nice to me since I came here?" I asked.
"Good question kid" Doc puts his hand on my shoulder. "You see, I'm not the type of guy who treats criminals like they some monster or something. You're a human being, I'm a human being, end of story"
Huh, I can see why he's a coach.
"What about criminals that murders people? Like a serial killer!" I asked. "Would you still treat them nicely?"
