Aurem's surroundings melt into a stary canvas. Spiraling galaxies are painted in the distance, the long band of the milky way is prominent, front and center. The glimmering dots of stars are speckled across the sky with no foreseen pattern. To put it simply, the layout in front of Aurem is simply breathtaking.

The boy comes up from behind her, awkwardly floating around. "Meh."

Aurem spins around to face him. "Where did J-Hope go?"

The boy takes her arm, guiding her towards where he is waiting. "J-Nope is over there."

Eventually, they catch up with the glistening angel. He finally spots the pair, he smiles and sighs of relief as they draw near.

"Goodness, I was starting to get worried." Hoseok looks at Aurem, "Did anything happen?"

"No, I'm just scared of heights." She looks at the one holding her. "How do wings even work here? Space has no air resistance, so wings don't exactly work..."

The bright angel smiles. "Ah Aurem, some things just can't be explained by science. They just do, that's all."

The girl uncomfortably stirs, grabbing her arm. "Weird."

Hoseok nods, looking to the side. "The mortal perception of humanly physics is odd... Air resistance, momentum... Those don't exist in this realm." He folds his hands together, gesturing towards Earth. "Well then, follow me."

The group descends, each continent becoming larger and larger until they are directly over Asia.

"Busan, right?" The brighter one confirms.

"Yeah," She nods. "The Cliffs."

"Aurem, this might get a bit graphic, I have no idea how you di- almost died... I can't tell you what to expect." Hoseok's tone darkens. "When people die, I usually automatically know how, I don't even need to take them down to earth until their funeral... but you're different."

"Wuss." The boy mumbles. Hoseok crosses his arms. "It's not my fault I've never seen a corpse that hasn't been properly dressed."

The girl nods, inhaling. "Let's see how bad Ara screwed this up."

All of them make their final descent, their field of view eventually blurring and narrowing down to the target location.

They finally come to the scene. As soon as Hoseok sees the mangled car, he looks away. The other stares in horror. Aurem cringes as she zooms down to the car.

Her vehicle caught itself on a ledge before the long drop to the ocean. The front of it is crunched like a tin can, only one Airbag deployed. Every single window is shattered, an arm sticking out of one of them. Blood trickles down the side of the car.

No one is around, the wreck hasn't been found yet.

She sighs in relief as she scans Ara. A scratch on her face is all she could see, and she is unconscious.

Aurem, on the other hand, is not the same case.

Her airbag never went off, nor was her seatbelt ever fastened. Aurem's skull is embedded in the windshield, her arm is completely embedded in the glass. Both the tendons and bone can be seen from above, but it is glass and door themselves that are keeping her from bleeding out.

"Aurem, what happened?" Hoseok's voice shook. The other just stares.

She looked at both of them.

"To put it short, I had to pick up my friend from a party because she was drunk, and then she grabbed the wheel on the way back." The girl quietly spoke. "This is also my fault, I shouldn't have been driving after a concussion."

Hoseok places his palms over Aurem's human body. "If you wake up, it looks like your life may still have some quality. Your neck or spine isn't broken, you'll need a prosthetic for your arm.

Aurem nods. "Is there any way for me to get back into my physical body, to come back alive?"

"You still want to live?" The raven winged boy awed. "After seeing all of this?"

She turns to him, folding her hands in her lap. "Yes, I have a family, a life. I'm going back if I can."

Hoseok thinks for a moment. There are special situations for circumstances like this, he would have to confront his higher-ups, wait for their decision on the matter, get approval, and then hope that the person is still alive.

"Look, your body is in no shape to host a soul right now... But I'll make you a deal." The angel interjects and looks at her. "I'm going to get scolded for this, but I need a favor..."

Aurem furrows her eyebrows and nods. The gloomy one intently listens.

"It is the highest honor to be chosen to guard the mortals- I mean, the human race." He scratches the back of his head. "In fact, only a few angels are even chosen to take on that duty, there's a whole process. On top of that, you even have to look after the human you're aligned with."

"Aligned... is that like a guardian angel?" Aurem questions. Hoseok nods enthusiastically.

"Anyway, each angel that is given the opportunity to protect multiple humans are given certain jobs." The cheerful angel flies back and forth. "You see, there are those that bring justice, transfer prayers to Them, heal this sick, and many other roles."

Aurem looks back at her body and points to it, confused.

"Clearly, there's some staff that's lacking..."

been lacking..." She sighs.

"Exactly, which brings me to my point." Hoseok nods. "You will watch over the city of Busan, preventing the early deaths of its citizens until your physical body is able to regain consciousness on its own."

"Wait, What?!" She gasps, her hands going up. "I'm the worst possible person to trust with that kind of responsibility."

Hobi smiles, crossing his arms. "Which is why you're going to have a partner."

Aurem makes an 'O' shape with her mouth. The raven angel, on the other hand, starts backing away, already knowing what's going to happen.

"Yah, don't leave yet," Hobi snaps his fingers and he floats towards him. "You, my pupil, are going to be working with Aurem here... if she takes my deal."

"I'm not your pupil." The boy crosses his arms. Hobi flies over to him and ruffles his hair.

"Aurem, I wish you luck, but I have to warn you." Hoseok crosses his arms. "If you're seen by any corrupted angels, or demons, as you call them, they will hunt you down."

The girl shifts her posture, resting her hands on her hips. "What do you mean?"

"They are driven by hunger, greed, and all of the evils you could ever think of. Your life force gleams within you, and it can be sensed. If they proceed to take it, you'll die, and your soul will be there's."

"You could go to Hell." The raven boy interjects. "Look, this is risky."

The girl looks at the crushed car and her mangled body. She's gambling her very existence away, but she is determined.

Aurem wants to live.
