Recap:
I merely shrugged as my best friend entered a cheery conversation with the girl. She seemed friendly enough, I just didn't have the energy or social skills to entertain her right now.
Not to mention my brain constantly drifting to thought of seeing him any moment.
I was unbelievably anxious.

We made it to the pack house after around 15minutes of walking. My being unconsciously lifted as I raised my head to look for Jake, but he wasn't waiting for us in front of the pack house.
There was however, another familiar face.
"Hayden?" Harrison asked as we approached, an expression of disbelief and shock, "What are you doing here? I mean, not trying to be rude or anything, I stand by my best friend promise but I'm hella confused right now." His expression morphed into that of an uneasy smile as his eyes glazed over indicating he was mind-linking someone.
Everyone turned to me as I answered in a timid voice.
"Hey Harrison, I'm here on a personal visit, as you can probably guess." The tone of my voice left hanging in the air for a bit at the end of the statement.
The red head raised his eyebrows in shock once again, "Yeah." It's as if he didn't know what to say, "Um, David, Asha, you're both dismissed, you can return to your duties, thank you."
They both bowed in respect. Asha saying "I'll see you guys around! We're gonna be friends, I can tell!"
Axel and I both smiled warmly at her as the two returned to guarding the grounds.
"Sorry guys, I'll get on with the formal introductions." Harrison's posture stiffened as did his entire being, "As soon to be second in command of the Red Moon pack I, Harrison Park, welcome and accept Hayden Wesley and Axel Frank of the Damned Sun pack onto our grounds."
Axel and I both bowed our heads in acknowledgment and thanks of the welcome.
"Alrighty! Now that the formalities are over-" Harrison began, but only to be interrupted.
"Hayden." Said a voice I had been hearing all too often in my dreams and memories over the last 7 months. Lavender and pine enveloped my senses.
I could feel life coming back into my wolf as Jake stepped closer.
He had come from the forest. My back to him as I felt his presence near our small group. Every hair on my body stood on end, I was hyper-alert to anything he did, any movement he made. I was swimming in his aura, his being.
I unconsciously made a step backwards towards him, but Axel grabbed my arm before I could go any further. A low growl came from my mate at the site of an unmated male touching me.
I silently thanked Axel for keeping me grounded and closed my eyes to regain my thoughts.
"Sorry, Harrison, what were you saying?" I purposely ignored my mate, retaining a level voice as I spoke.
"Um, well. I-"
Jake growled again, I forced myself to hold in the eye roll. This possessive-Alpha-thing-but-left-you-abandoned-for-7-months-without-contact-and-slept-with-someone-else act was getting old.
I folded my arms as Jake began to circle around to stand beside Harrison, purposely cutting it too close to me and brushing my side as he passed. Tingles erupted from the spot and my body ached for him. I was desperate to reach out and touch him but I knew far better than to do that.
"Harrison please continue." Jake spoke in a calm, monotone voice. He stared directly at me. Eyes not once leaving my being.
He was breathtaking. His blonde, cloud-like hair in the sunlight, those eyes that I had been dreaming of for so many months. He was dressed casually in a red and white striped t-shirt and a loose pair of jeans.
By the Goddess he looked so hot.
"Well, uh, we've organised a room for the two of you, as per the requests of your Alpha so if you'd like to follow me." He began to turn towards the house and a frown settled on Jake's face.
"Sorry, Harrison was it?" Axel started as Harrison nodded, "We'd actually much rather have two rooms separate if that's possible?"
"Oh! Yeah, sure. That's perfectly fine. We have a quite a number of-" Jake interrupted him again.
"I think that two rooms is much better suited to this situation. You will be sleeping in separate rooms. That can definitely be arranged." Jake rudely put, his eyes still never leaving mine.
I could hear Axel quietly huff in exasperation beside me.
I removed my stare from Jake as I weighed in, "Actually, I'd really quite like to share a room with Axel. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him." I stepped closer to my best friend so that our sides were touching.
"That's fine, yes, so we're all agreed? Just one room?" Harrison asked.
Axel and I both nodded and my eyes shifted to Jake to see his own flashing from his natural icy blue to black. He was fighting to restrain his wolf. He knew he couldn't further insist on us staying in separate rooms without causing a scene, even though the people present all knew why there was such a heavy tension between the two of us.
"Alrighty, let's head in." Said Harrison with a slight smirk on his face after seeing Jake's state.
This week was going to be interesting... to say the least.
