Cliché #105: when abusive relationships are romanticized?
He slapped me hard across the face, and I stumbled back from the impact, tears coming to my eyes and threatening to spill out.
"Look at what you made me do now. I've hurt you." He reached out and placed a loving hand on my cheek. "You know I don't like hurting you babe." He leaned forward and kissed my forehead.
Majority of comment section: omg they're so cute together! I knew he really cared about her ❤️❤️ I wish my boyfriend could be as loving as him.
Ok this is actually a very serious issue. A good amount of books on here depict abusive relationships like the example above. And they romanticize these relationships and make it seem normal or ideal. And a lot of users here are younger people who will now grow up reading these books and thinking relationships are supposed to be like this. Abuse is not romantic. It's destructive.
