Cliché #143: the story takes place in America
"So, where are you from?" Sami asked Jean as they walked around the park.
"I'm from Nepal," Jean told her. Sami immediately stopped in her tracks, frowning at Jean.
"Ne-pal?" Sami said slowly. Then she rolled her eyes. "Wow, do you really think I'm that stupid? Stop making up places. Everybody knows America's the only country that exists in the world!"
I honestly find it more interesting to read a story set in a different place other than the U.S.A. since I get to read about different cultures and customs than I'm used to
