I woke up extremely early excited to see him but Shikamaru wasn't at his house when I went.
"He didn't come home last night, I thought he was on a mission" his dad said as I left their house.
He wasn't anywhere. I searched for him but I couldn't find him. Maybe he was out on a mission? But he would've told me if he was going and I was pretty certain he said he didn't have any for the whole week. I ended up going to Tsunade-sama to see if he was sent out and he was. He was sent to the sand village, escorting some villagers from there.
"He would've told me..." I trailed off not really talking to Tsunade but she heard me.
"It was pretty unexpected. He was rushed to go..." Oh. I lightened up at the news he didn't have time to tell me. I turned around waving goodbye to hokage.
"I'm gonna go train with Iruka-sensei them. Bye granny." I chuckled as one of the magazines on her desk was thrown just missing my head.
I trained all day despite being tired. I sparred with a few people. Lee being the fastest thing I have seen but what surprised me though was I could see him. It was a long fight that Lee of course won.
"Kira-chan that was a challenging spar." I sighed was he teasing me I took most (all) of the injuries and he looked untouched.
Iruka-sensei came up and patted me on the back.
"It was good. You've come along way, you can keep up with Lee and that's saying something." I looked towards Lee and he nodded, a huge smile on his face, shoving his thumb up.
"You did great!" I laughed collapsing on the ground staring up at the sky. I knew I was gonna ache when I got home.
"Anyways Kira training is ended for today. Go home and eat. Lee, I'll walk with you to Guy I need to see him about something.." They both nodded down towards me and I sent them a wave. Not even a day has passed and I feel so bored and lonely without Shikamaru. I cheered up with the fact that I'll see him after the mission.
My cheer full state started to crumble as a day turned into two which turned into a week. I was basically on the verge of dying when a week turned into three. I stomped my way to the hokages office for what felt like the hundredth time for the past three weeks. I was going to demand her to go see him.... Again.
"Tsunade-sama it doesn't take three whole week- Shikamaru!" I was so glad to finally see him. it felt like I was taking a breath after holding it in for so long. I didn't notice how tense the room was as I ran forward only to be stopped by a female who was glaring down at me.
"What are you doing?" I was taken a back at how rude she was that I took a step away. Finally noticing how different Shikamaru was acting he barely looked at me when I called his name and his aura was different, cold.
"Kira... Wait outside." Tsunade-sama voice pierced my ears giving me a heart attack what the hell was happening. I looked down and saw the girl intertwine her fingers with Shikamaru obviously wanting a reaction from me. I didnt react at all which seemed to piss her off. What the hell was happening? Why was he not talking to me? Why was he holding her hand? Why did it hurt?
"Kira?" I looked to the side to see an awkward looking Naruto who had gone away on the mission with Shikamaru but had returned a week before him. I was still staring at their hands why did it feel like my heart was getting stabbed. Naruto sighed grabbing my hand and leading me out of the room. I didn't think I could go on my own.
'just because they're holding hands it means nothing.' I tried to convince myself but the facts were there. He let her kiss cheek as I turned back one last time, wishing i hadn't.
