"Did you see the look on Cia's face?!" Zelda broke out laughing as they stepped off the bus. It was only around 6 pm but because it was mid January, the sun was setting and it was getting rather dark.

"And Ghirahim when you told him to take up ballet- priceless!" Link joined in, stumbling about as he wiped a forming tear out of his eye.

"Those two are actually our biggest competition, yet they stared at some simple waltz footwork like some evil villain had appeared!" She steadied herself slightly, clutching her stomach so she didn't physically double over from laughing. Although she felt quite serious at the time, after the fact the whole situation was something to laugh about.

"On a serious note, thanks for backing me up there. Saved me from some real embarrassment" Link paused for a second, looking everywhere except at Zelda, as if he was nervous to see her reaction.

"No problem. I meant everything I said" Zelda replied, her tone dropping to one that was serious, yet still with a positive undertone.

"Me too" Link answered back, smiling into what he was saying.

The two walked in silence for a minute, but it was anything but awkward. Zelda was debating whether or not she should bring up what happened earlier in the week, talk about what any of their 'soul experiences' meant. However, she decided to talk to her mother about it when she got home.

"I'll text you later" Zelda said before saying goodbye to Link, having to walk a minute further to reach her own house.

Link waved as he nodded, walking down his own street as him and Zelda parted ways.

"Hey, mum?" Zelda spoke loudly as she walked in the door, locking it behind her.

"We're in the living room" Her mother answered.

Zelda made her way into the room, where both of her parents sat on the couch met her eyes. They were watching a movie, but paused it as soon as Zelda had shown some slight concern.

"So I- I just have a bit of a question" She asked, clearing her throat. It was very hard to make this seem not at all suspicious.

"Ask away" They both turned their undivided attention towards her now.

It was very strange for Zelda to admit she ever needed help or to even just ask a question like this in general.

"What happens after someone has a soul experience? I'm just curious" She justified, chuckling slightly in an attempt to make it seem more natural.

"Oh, well nothing happens really. It's more of a symptom of the fact that your soul is beginning to adjust to its other half" Her mother replied eagerly in surprise, still not exactly believing her excuse for asking. "Are you sure that you're just curious?"

"Yes, I'm sure. Goodnight" Although Zelda wasn't exactly satisfied with the answer, prying would've only made the situation escalate. So she did the only thing she felt she could, get the hell out of that situation.

"Goodnight, sweetheart"

She flopped onto her bed face first, letting her limbs feel lifeless as she just layed there. She didn't really realize how much work and practice her and Link had been putting in over the last week. When thinking about it, it was extremely excessive.

She could already feel how her body was working against her, tensing up and aching whenever she tried to move. It really didn't feel like much but she was completely and utterly exhausted. It was going to be an absolute pain to get out of bed in the morning.

She wormed her hands over to her phone, then rather slowly typed out a message to Link, reluctantly hitting send once it was complete.

Hey. Sorry, I don't think I'll be able to do any sort of practice tomorrow. My body is aching literally everywhere

I could so easily make a dirty joke out of that
Seriously though, me too. We've really been overworking ourselves, huh?

Definitely. It feels as though we've made completely insane amounts of progress after just one week

I guess I'm just that good

You were literally saying how you didn't really trust yourself a few days ago

Can't a guy have his fun without 'logic' and 'facts' coming in the way?

Apparently not haha. I'm gonna get in the shower

;)

omg

It was kind of surprising how seemingly cheeky Link was being over text, but she had to admit that it made her laugh aloud a considerable amount.

When she said that the two made a lot of progress, it could've been taken in a couple different ways. The most obvious was in skating, in which the statement was most certainly correct. Not only had they figured out the type of choreography that they wanted to go for, they even managed to put little sequences together. Of course they were slightly sloppy right now, but that would just naturally improve over time and when they polished the routine up completely. Link's mentality towards jumps and lifts had changed a notable amount to.

But then there was their relationship. Just a mere week ago, they were rejecting the others existence, refusing to acknowledge that they were bonded. They'd been through so much in the past with them against each other, but it turned out that they just needed to be forced to interact based on a mutual hobby. It was quite concerning how quickly they'd apparently adapted to the situation. Zelda was slightly in a mode of desperation, but Link... It was rather unclear.

Although they hadn't really talked about their bonds with each other, the two were going through their own battles constantly, just to figure out how they actually felt. They weren't the same people that they were a few years prior.

There were so many things that surprised Zelda about Link. He was funny, not stuck up. He was polite, not rude as for some reason she'd invisioned and assumed that that was the case. If only she realised at the time that in fact, she didn't really know anything at all.

Sorry this is shorter than every other chapter, I really just wanted to get something out for you guys.

Thank you so much for 2k! It really means a lot.
