Chapter 17

2 Weeks Later

Maddie's POV

Today is an exciting day because today is my last checkup before mine and Caleb's daughter arrives, I am excited because we are going to get a 3D ultrasound of our daughter, and I am also excited because today is my baby shower and I cant wait to see my friends and family. I am 35 weeks pregnant now and I am so ready to have this baby, I get off the bed and go into the bathroom and take a quick shower and get ready for my last checkup. After I am dressed I blow dry my hair and I put a headband on my head and I put some makeup on, afterwards I go downstairs and see that Caleb has prepared breakfast so I sit down at the table next to Caleb and we eat our breakfast and afterwards Caleb and I walk out of the house and we both head to the car and we get in the car and Caleb starts up the car and he driver to the doctors office. When we finally arrive at the doctors office I go up to the front desk and the lady tells me to wait for a doctor to tell us that Doctor Johnson is ready for us so I go over to Caleb and sit down right next to him in the chairs, about 16 minutes later the same lady comes out and tells us that they are ready for us so Caleb and I get up and go back to one of the rooms and we sit and wait for the Doctor Johnson to arrive, about 4 minutes later Doctor Johnson comes into the room and we get ready to check the baby for the last time.

Doctor Johnson: "Hello Maddie how are you doing today?"

Maddie: "Im good, my back just hurts"

Doctor Johnson: "That's to be expected during the last month of your pregnancy"

Maddie: "Yeah"

Doctor Johnson: "How many more weeks left?"

Maddie: "4 weeks left"

Doctor Johnson: "Wow so close"

Maddie: "I know, I can't wait"

Doctor Johnson: "I bet, so are you two ready to see your daughter in the 3D ultrasound"

Maddie & Caleb: "Yes!!"

Doctor Johnson: "Well Maddie lie back and lift up your shirt and lets take a look at your baby"

I do what the doctor says and I lift my shirt up and lie back on the table and Doctor Johnson puts the cold gel on my belly and turns on the 3D ultrasound machine and she puts the doppler on my belly and moves it around trying to get the perfect picture of the baby, about a few minutes later we get a nice picture of our baby girl and I am in awe so I looked up at Caleb and I smile at him and then he leans down and gives me the most sweetest kiss ever, afterwards we look back at the screen and smile some more because we get to see our daughters face then after that Doctor Johnson leaves to get a few pictures printed out for Caleb and I and then I sit up and clean off the gel on my belly and then put my shirt down and is sit and wait for our doctor to come back, about a few minutes later our doctor comes back into the room and hands us the 3D ultrasound picture of mine and Caleb's daughter and I get up and put the photos in my purse and then we talk to Doctor Johnson some more before we leave the doctors office and go home and get ready for the baby shower.

Doctor Johnson: "Well I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I will see ya'll when you are in labor"

Maddie: "Oh we will enjoy the day because today is our baby shower and yes we will see you in a couple weeks when I have the baby"

Doctor Johnson: "Oh fun I hope you guys have a good time today"

Maddie: "Oh we will"

Doctor Johnson: "Well I will see you both in a few weeks"

Maddie & Caleb: "Ok"

After the appointment Caleb and I leave the doctors office and we get in the car and then Caleb drives us home, when we arrive home Caleb and I run upstairs and we get our outfits out and we take a quick shower, after our shower I get out and I dry off and then I put my clothes on and I decide to wear a dress because I want to look nice and then after im dressed I put on some makeup and then I blow-dry my hair, while I am blow drying my hair Caleb gets out of the shower and he gets dressed he decides to wear nice pair of jeans with a nice flannel shirt which looks very sexy on him. After we are dressed i go to the stand by my side of my bed and i grab my phone and i check the time and it says that it is 2:30pm so Caleb and i go downstairs and we head out to the car and then drive over to my Moms house for the baby shower, when we finally pull into the driveway of my parents house and i see balloons and a huge banner that says "Its a Girl, welcome to Maddie's Baby Shower" seeing this makes me happy because my mom went all out for this baby shower, We get out of the car and go inside my Parents house and we see my Mom, Dad, and my two Sisters Hannah and Emma standing at the door greeting us, after i give my family a hug Caleb and i go into the living room and talk to my family for a few minutes and then the door bell rings and my mom goes to answer the door and when she opens it we see Caleb's parents so they both come in and they set their gift down and then the come over to Caleb and i and we give them a hug.

Heather: "Hey my handsome son and my beautiful daughter in law"

Maddie & Caleb: "Hey Mom"

William: "How are you both doing?"

Maddie & Caleb: "We are good"

Heather: "So how long till the baby comes?"

Maddie: "4 more weeks"

William: "Wow so close"

Caleb: "I know were so excited"

Heather: "I bet"

After talking to the in-laws we hear the door bell ring and we open it and see that Gabby, Cade, Catie, Michael, Jurnee, My friend Jayden and Emily, and Caleb's friend Harley, after everyone is here we start all the fun activities that my mom has planned and then after that Caleb and i sit in the middle of the living room and we open up baby gifts.

Here is a list of baby gifts everyone has bought for our baby girl

1. My mom and dad bought onesies and baby booties

2. Hannah bought a baby sling so i can carry my daughter around

3. Emma bought a Minnie mouse baby bag so i can put diapers, pacifiers, pajamas and etc.

4. Caleb's mom and dad bought a pink bassinet

5. Gabby and Cade bought a bath set

6. Michael bought baby blankets and diapers

7. Catie bought baby books so me or Caleb can read to our daughter

8. Jurnee bought baby toys

9. my friend Emily bought a changing table, baby bottles, pacifiers, pajamas and diapers

10. my friend Jadyn bought a vibrating bouncy chair for our baby girl

11. Caleb's best friend Harley bought the baby stuffed animals

After Caleb and i open the gifts for our baby girl we thank everyone and enjoy the rest of the baby shower, it is 7:15pm and everyone has already left so Caleb puts all the presents in the back of the car and i get up from the couch and hug my family and tell them goodbye and then i get into the car and Caleb and i head home, after we get home we bring the presents into the house and we both go upstairs and we go into our daughters room and drop the presents off and then we head to our room and we quickly put our pajamas on and then we hop into bed.

Caleb: "Today was a fun day"

Maddie: "Yeah it was, it was the best day ever"

Caleb: "I love you Madeline Mae Hutchinson"

Maddie: "And i love you Caleb Lee Hutchinson"

Caleb: "Goodnight"

Maddie: "Goodnight baby"

About a few minutes later Caleb and i fall asleep in each others arms, about 7 hours later i wake up because my back is hurting so bad so i look at my phone and check the time and it says that its 2:23am, i groan and set my phone back on the stand and i sit up and pull off the blankets and i slowly get out of bed and go downstairs to get a glass of water, while i am sipping on water i feel severe pain in my stomach so i ignore it and then it goes away and then i continue to drink my water, about 20 minutes later the pain comes back but its more worse so i let out a scream and hold my stomach, the pain is so bad that i get really dizzy and i fall to the ground hitting my head and stomach on the floor and the next thing i know is everything fades to black.
