Chapter 21

Few Days Later

Maddie's POV

At home sitting on the couch with Caleb while our baby girl is in her vibrating chair asleep in front of us, we smile while watching her and a couple minutes later we hear Brooklyn cry so Caleb picks her up and rocks her trying to calm her down, seeing Caleb with our daughter makes me happy because Caleb is such a good daddy to her and I love them both so much.

Caleb: "Shhh, baby its alright daddy's here"

Maddie: "You are so amazing"

Caleb: "I love her so much"

Maddie: "You are the best daddy ever to our little girl"

Caleb: "Yeah and your the best mommy ever"

Maddie: "I love you"

Caleb: "I love you too Baby"

Maddie: "And I love you Brooklyn"

Caleb: "I love her too"

We continue to sit on the couch and watch our daughter when we hear a knock on the door so I get up and go over to the door, open the door and see that Gabby and Cade are here for a visit so I let them in and I give them both a hug and then we go over to the couch and Caleb hands the baby to Gabby and Cade so they can hold her.

Gabby: "You guys she is so beautiful"

Cade: "Yeah I agree with Gabby"

Maddie: "Aww Thank You Gabby and Cade"

Caleb: "Yeah Thank You Gabby and Cade"

A few hours later Gabby and Cade leave and Brooklyn is asleep so I put her in her vibrating bouncy seat and I check social media while Caleb goes upstairs and puts clothes in the washer, afterwards he sits back on the couch and we hang out for a little bit and then about 2 hours later Brooklyn wakes up crying so I take her out of the vibrating chair and I breastfeed her, afterwards Brooklyn falls asleep and I snuggle up next to Caleb and we both watch TV for a little bit, A few hours later It is 9:00 so Caleb gets off the couch and makes dinner for me and him and i am still sitting on the couch checking my social media on my phone, watching TV and watching our daughter and about a few minutes later Caleb tells me that dinner is done so i get off the couch and i bring the vibrating chair over to the table and i sit in the chair and Caleb and i eat our dinner and we talk, after our dinner we clean up and we go upstairs and I lay Brooklyn in her little bassinet that is next to our bed and Caleb and I get our pajamas on and then we get in bed. While we are in bed we talk for a while and then we are interrupted by Brooklyn crying so Caleb sits up in bed and he picks her up and lays Brooklyn's head on his bare chest and he begins to talk to her softly.

Caleb: "Shhh it's OK baby girl daddy's here"

Brooklyn keeps crying so Caleb starts singing his song "Johnny Cash Heart" to her since that is her favorite song that Caleb sings to her when he tries to calm her down. After he sings the song Caleb looks right at her and she has her eyes closed and she sleeps, Caleb then looks right back at me and smiles.

Caleb: "She fell asleep again"

Maddie: "I know"

Caleb: "She loves that song"

Maddie: "I know she does, you are such a good daddy"

Caleb: "And you are such a good mommy"

Caleb and I stay up for a couple more hours talking and watching our beautiful daughter sleeping so comfortably and then Caleb and I turn off the TV and I put my head on his chest and drift off to to sleep happy in each other's arms.
