Chapter 15

Few Weeks Later

Maddie's POV

I am awake and getting ready for my next checkup, I am 29 weeks today which means that im also in my third trimester of my pregnancy, I get out of bed and grab my clothes and take a shower then after my shower I get dressed and go downstairs, when im finally downstairs I see Caleb has prepared breakfast so I sit and eat my breakfast and carry on a conversation with Caleb. After breakfast Caleb and I put our shoes on and get into the car and he drives me to our baby's checkup, We arrive at the doctors office and we head inside and I go up to the front desk and tell the women at the desk that I have a checkup and she tells me to wait for the doctor to get us, about 15 minutes a lady comes out and calls my name and Caleb and I get up and walk to the room where we are told to wait for our doctor to come into the room, Doctor Johnson comes in about 9 minutes later and checks on mine and Caleb's daughter.

Doctor Johnson: "Hello Maddie how are you doing today?"

Maddie: "I am good"

Doctor Johnson: "That's good"

Maddie: "Yeah it is"

Doctor Johnson: "And how are you doing Caleb?"

Caleb: "Im doing well"

Doctor Johnson: "That's awesome, so are you two ready to see your baby girl?"

Maddie & Caleb: "Yes"

Doctor Johnson: "Ok well Maddie lift up your shirt a little bit and lie back and lets see your baby"

I lift up my shirt and I lie down and the doctor puts gel on my belly and she puts the doppler on my belly and she moves it around trying to look for the heartbeat, while she looks for the baby's heartbeat I look at Caleb while holding his hand and smile at him and he does the same to me and then 5 minutes later we get interrupted but the "THUMP, THUMP,THUMP" noise and I look at Caleb again and he leans down and kisses me passionately and we stay like this until Caleb pulls away and breaks the kiss and we both look at the screen and see our precious baby, seeing our daughter makes me smile so big because she is getting bigger and she will be hear in a couple weeks.

Doctor Johnson: "Well your baby's heartbeat is getting strong and she is getting big"

Maddie: "Im so happy"

Caleb: "Me too"

Doctor Johnson: "Ok well let me get a photo for you two and you are free to go"

Maddie & Caleb: "Ok"

The doctor leaves the room and I sit up and I wipe off all of the gel off my belly and then put my sit down and I talk to Caleb for a few minutes and then about 10 minutes later Doctor Johnson comes back into the room and gives us a couple ultrasound photos of our daughter and I get up and then Doctor Johnson gives me a paper that tells me when my final checkup is and Caleb and I leave the doctor's office and then get into the car and head home, as Caleb is driving I look at the ultrasound picture again and I smile while looking at it and then I get my phone out and then I take a photo and send it to my mom, we finally pull into our driveway and we both get out of the car and then we head inside our house and I set my purse on the table and then I go to one of the dressers in our living room and get out an empty picture frame and I put the ultrasound picture in it and set it next to the other ultrasound pictures and then I go over to the couch where Caleb is sitting at and we watch TV for a few minutes then Caleb gets up from the couch and he leaves to go get dinner for us, while he is out I get up and go upstairs and get mine and Caleb's laundry and put them in the washer so they can get cleaned and then I get cleaned up for dinner and when the clothes are washed I put the clothes in the dryer and then I go back downstairs and sit back on the couch and wait for Caleb to get back. Caleb arrives home about 30 minutes later and he brings home Subway for dinner so I get off the couch and go over to the table and I eat my dinner, as I was eating dinner Caleb speaks up.

Caleb: "Today was a good day"

Maddie: "Yeah it was"

Caleb: "I cant believe our daughter is getting big"

Maddie: "I know a couple more weeks and then we get to meet her"

Caleb: "I know I cant wait either"

We finish our dinner and then I help Caleb clean up and then we sit back on the couch and we watch more TV for a little bit before we go upstairs and get ready for bed, We fall asleep a couple minutes into our movie that we were watching and I wake up and check the time on my phone and it says that its 11:00pm so I wake Caleb up and I get off the couch and I grab Caleb's hand and we go upstairs and we get ready for bed, when we finally get into bed Caleb pulls my head up and gives me a passionate kiss and then I lay my head on Caleb's chest and Caleb wraps his arms around me and we both drift off to sleep.
