Yuka Morthens job was done. Two days ago he had charged into the pocket realm of a small island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. The large domed buildings and pale stone mixed with the cerulean water coming together to make a picture of beauty. That is until the smoke billowed from buildings, the screams ringing out.

His heart had hammered the entire time; a war drum as the city was sacked. First, the citizens had been led from their houses, into lines as they were stripped of any valuable possessions. They had watched the young Princess and King of the land lose their heads, and finally, they were tortured for information. It had been an exhausting two days, all for a single seed of information.

Every single person who had any hint of information had died by their own hands before they could be questioned, and in result, the rest of their families were executed publicly. Though it made no difference. The entire population of the island of Gehara, consisting of two thousand people was dead.

Yuka watched as the fire ate away at the bodies, he watched as the skin of a young girl, originally killed in the initial attack of the city, sizzled, bubbles forming along her thin arms as the fire boiled her blood. Her name was Seava, or that was what her mother had screamed as Yuka had murdered the girl. It was a direct attack, he had been rampaging the house when the girl, a fierce thing not yet old enough to attend a school had bitten into his arm as he had advanced towards the girls' mother. At the moment, the pain had been great, intoxicating any sense of morals from him and he had thrown the girl to the ground, accidentally embedding her through the splintered bedpost of her bed.

The fire continued until the sky was stained with smoke, until his watch had read lunchtime, and yet the sky read midnight.

Yuka Morthens turned towards the portal, breathing in the intense smoke from the raging fires that grazed the charcoal sky.

He was ready to report to the Affilatorian Circle.
