Kenzi POV:
I swallowed as I clutched the revolver tightly in my hand, sweat dripping from my brow line down my face and neck. The footsteps came closer, and the voices became muffled. I couldn't very well tell how many people there were. Two definite female voices and one male voice. I heard the buttons for the code to the cellar being pressed, and I put my finger on the trigger, ready to fire. The door swung open and I stifled a shriek of alarm when I saw Charlotte and Renee, along with their mates, shuffling into the cellar. Scott had a bad bullet wound in his right shoulder, blood dripping steadily out of his joint.
"How did you guys...?!" I tried I form my question without sounding stupid.
"Grant mind linked me, pup." Walker Ligos said. Having him here definitely made me feel a bit safer, but at the same time, it panicked me. Walker was one of the best warriors in our pack. So why was he with us?
"Shut the door, Char," Scott coughed. "Lock it." Charlotte settled Scott onto the rug, doing as he had commanded, before kneeling down beside him. Tears dripped steadily from her eyes as she lightly touched his wound.
Grant, Scott has a bullet wound in his shoulder! I mind linked Grant. How do I fix it?
There's some pain reliever and disinfectant in the chest at the back of the cellar, where the water and food is. Grant answered in a calm voice. Get Walker to take care of Scott's wound. He knows how.
I turned to Walker, then moved back to the chest, digging through the supplies, pulling out a first aid pack.
"Grant told me that you should remove the bullet from Scott. He says you know how." I spoke in a hushed voice. Walker nodded, pulling a wad of cloth out of the first aid. He handed it to Scott, before pulling out a syringe filled with the pain reliever.
"Scott bite down on that if it hurts," Walker instructed. "We can't have you screaming like a baby and giving away our hide out." Scott nodded and stuffed the cotton into his mouth as Walker set to work on the bullet wound. I sat at the back of the cellar, my knees tucked into my chest as I stared at the cellar door.
"Is Grant okay?" Renee asked as sat down beside me. I nodded feebly.
"Werewolf law states that medics can't be harmed, so he is in no danger." I repeated what Grant had told me. "How true that is or whether the rogues with break that rule is my highest doubt right now."
"Hey, it will be okay." Renee held my hand. "We're going to be okay." I nodded in response as tears fell down my face.
"I can't lose anyone else." I whimpered. "Not again. If I see a rogue I'll kill them on the spot for what they've done to this pack!" Renee ran a hand through my hair, hugging me gently.
The door to the cellar suddenly flew open, and I growled when I saw two male rogues standing there.
"Bastards rot in hell!" I screamed before pulling out my revolver and shooting a silver bullet into each of their chests.
