I sat down on the rocking chair in the twin's nursery room, holding both of them in my arms as I sang softly to them. Jeff was curled up on the small cat bed that we had bought him. It was placed on the small outcrop of the large window in the nursery, where sunlight poured into the room. He had his eyes closed contently as the sun warmed his fur. Kacey and Hayden were finally starting to speak their first few words, at an impressive age of only seven months old. It seemed quite amusing that they're first word was "Kitty." Both of them.
We had been lounging in the nursery, much like how we were now, and Jeff had come over and sat in front of the little cushions that helped the babies work on sitting upright. He was staring at them, seeming to be wary about them. (He had told us that he would kill Grant and I if we ever made him babysit them again. Apparently, he didn't like kids.)
The twins had ogled him, both giggling and smiling as they waved their hands around in his direction. Apparently Kacey and Hayden had grown attached to Jeff, much to his dismay.
And then they both pointed their little pointer fingers at Jeff, and in unison, they both said,
"Kitty!"
I chuckled at the memory, remembering how Jeff had blushed dark red, even in his cat body. And ever since then, most of what they said consisted of Kitty. I had to say I was happy to see how well they had bonded with such an irritable personality like Jeff's. They would crawl around after him, grab his tail, cuddle him. In their pup bodies, they would pounce on him and chase him around the house, parking at him, chewing on his tail and his ears.
Kacey seemed to be most attached to Jeff though. She wasn't as rough with him when she and Hayden played with him. I often found her sitting in her cushion seat, with Jeff laying down by her side. She would gently pat the back of his neck, and run her tiny fingers gently through his fur, always cooing, "Kitty" over and over.
I let out a loud sigh as I pulled my pups closer to me, nuzzling them.
"Mama!" They said in unison, smiling. That was the second word they learned, much to Grant's chagrin.
That evening, a pack meeting was held to celebrate the peace that had returned to the pack. After we had rescued Talzia, and after Renee's shocking resurrection, Walker and a group of warriors had set out and destroyed all witch clans and rogue groups that were allied with the ones who had been hunting and killing hybrids like myself. The warriors had just returned after successfully eliminating all the threats, and the pack meeting was called to announce our victory.
Grant and I took the twins with us, to finally introduce them to our pack friends. I put them both in little green dinosaur onesies, because I wanted them to be comfy incase they became cranky and wanted to sleep. Grant had put on a nice dark blue collared shirt, rolling his sleeves up to his elbows, and a pair of khaki slacks and black dress shoes. I was much more lazy when it came to what I wore. I put on a simple grey maxi dress and black sandals, pulling my hair back into a messy bun on top of my head. I didn't wear any makeup tonight, I wasn't up for the bother of putting it on.
When we finally arrived at the great hall, there was already a large number of the pack members there, milling around and chatting amongst themselves. I quickly found Charlotte and Renee, who had Scott and Walker in tow behind them.
"Oh my gosh they're so CUTE!" Charlotte squealed when she saw the twins. I laughed gently as Grant smiled lovingly, his lips brushing the mate mark on my neck.
"Walker, thank you for everything," I told him as I choked up. "You can't know how much it means to me... To know that at least for now, my pups will be safe, that they'll have their mother." Walker smiled gently and placed a hand on Hayden's small fuzzy head.
"I would give my life to protect one of my own," he spoke gently. He smiled at Hayden then held out his hands. "Mind if I hold the little guy?" I shook my head and handed Hayden to Walker. Hayden's eyes grew huge as he stared at Walker's massive size.
The room suddenly grew quite as Alpha Luke walked to the front of the great hall with Talzia on his arm.
"Tonight, we celebrate the peace that had finally come to our pack. Our brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, and our children are safe!" Like spoke with a wide smile on his face. "I also have another announcement to make. I hate to steal the spotlight from Walker and our fine warriors who have brought us this peace, but Talzia and I have some wonderful news to share with you. Talzia has conceived my offspring in her womb! In a few months, the next alpha will be brought into the world!"
The room erupted in cheers, ecstatic at the news of the future alpha. It was common for the Alpha to announce to the whole pack at a pack meeting when he found out his Luna was carrying his child. It reassured that there was going to be a future generation to lead and protect the pack.
I looked at Grant in happiness as I leaned over to him and kissed his lips.
"What will we do now?" I asked him thoughtfully.
"We will raise our pups, and when they've grown and found their mates, we will spend the rest of our time together, in peace and harmony." Grant smiled as he kissed me softly again. "I love you, my beautiful mate."
"And I love you," I whispered to him. I closed my eyes as he kissed me, and let my mind drift, looking to tomorrow, and the peace our pack had finally claimed.

OKAY the story is finally over! I cannot tell you guys how grateful I am for you all sticking with me even though it took me SO LONG to finally write the conclusion to this story. This has been such an amazing journey for me. This book has helped me grow so much as an author and a person. It has evolved so much from what I had planned for it to be in the beginning, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
When I started writing it, the most views any of my books had ever received was my book "The Killing", with only around 7k reads. And I figured this book wouldn't get anywhere close to that number, because none of my other books have.
But after only a few chapters, the views came pouring in. For the first time, I had people commenting regularly on my chapters, telling me what they thought of the story, expressing sadness and happiness over the challenges and joys the characters faced. People started asking more and more for updates, starting voting more for my book.
And now here we are at the end of this amazing journey, with around 162k reads. And it blows my mind. I know on wattpad that isn't a very big number, but to know that 162,000 people have read this book just astounds me. I can't even wrap my head around a group of people that big.
I have never considered myself to be a very good author. Many of my books have failed at having even a remotely strong plot sequence. A lot of them contain romantic encounters and drama and whatnot, and completely lack any kind of actual story line or driving events.
This was the first story where I sat down and forced myself to make the sex and romance the B plot, and to actually attempt an A plot. And while the plot isn't the strongest, or the best, or the most fluid and moving plot, I was able to stick to my goal of having a plot that had a driving antagonist, that had challenges the characters faced, and had a resolution. I have grown so much as an author with this book, and I couldn't have done it without my beloved fans.
You all have helped me so much, inspiring me to continue to do my best for you, to push myself to try as hard as I can to make a story that people want to read and enjoy reading. I cannot thank all of you enough. All your comments kept me going, kept me pushing through the writer's block, and the challenges I face with being so tempted to just give up the plot.
I hate to say that this story is over, but I'm so glad I was able to walk this journey with all of you. I love all of you so much, and I will always treasure you.
Until next time, my amazing fans.
