Kenzi POV:

I woke up early Tuesday morning, my body nestled into Grant's. His sweet scent made me shiver and blush as I kissed his cheek and rolled out of bed. He groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes.

Mackenzie and Grant, come to the pack house. Be there in no less than thirty minutes. Luke mind linked us.

Yes Alpha, I answered.

When we arrived at the pack house, Alpha Luke met us outside, walking over to the car and helping me out. I eyed him, curious, confused as to why he would be helping me.

"Come. We have a... guest." He spoke in a tight voice. He led Grant and I inside the pack house, and up to the alpha office. I froze when I saw someone who seemed very familiar to me, she looked an awful lot like Annabel and my dead mother.

"Granna?" I whispered. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to talk, grandchild," the old woman spoke, her blue eyes holding mine as she spoke. "I warned your mother about breeding with a werewolf. Something unnatural would come of it. And I was right. You are a hybrid. So far as we know you are not dangerous."

"So far as you know?" I exclaimed. "I would never hurt anyone!"

"You've already killed over twenty rogues." Grannis snapped. "Don't play innocent child it will do you no favors."

"They were attacking the pack!" I argued. Granna'a eyes turned a glowing blue.

"Sit down and shut up!" Granna commanded, standing up as a harsh wind struck out, forcing me into the nearest chair. "I am showing you a kindness by being here."

"Sure you are," I grumbled.

"The witch council has decided to put a sentence on your head." Granna spoke in a low voice. "However, I was able to reason with them. You have two choices. One, they will execute you. Or two, you will throw away all of your werewolf abilities, and walk away from the pack. Live amongst humans. That means, no wolf, no pack, and no mate."

"What?" I whispered as tears filled my eyes.

"You won't remember any of your werewolf life. You will live with me amongst the humans, take on a human job. Never communicate with the wolves again." Granna spoke sharply.

"Take away my mate?" Grant snarled. "So then what about me? If I lose her I might as well be killed!" I placed my face in my hands and cried.

"Make your decision child." Granna spoke harshly. "You need to decide today, or the witch council will not hesitate to kill you."

"Mackenzie, accept her offer." Luke spoke gently. "It's better than being dead." I trembled and looked over at Grant, who was crying as well.

"Please, keep living my love." Grant whispered, kissing me deeply. I held myself close to him before talking to Tara.

I'm so sorry, Tara. I whispered.

It needs to be done. She reassured me. I love you, my Mackenzie.

You too, Tara. I'll see you when we both die. In heaven. I sobbed.

In heaven. She spoke gently.
