"Can you please go grocery shopping for me. The list is on the kitchen table"
I haven't had my car for four hours yet and my mom already has me running errands for her. Not even an hour ago I went to pick up her dry cleaning.
I want to complain but I can't. She pays the insurance and she gave birth to me. I know she'll bring those up if I say no.
I lazily put on my shoes and walked to the kitchen. Laying on the table was a list that came from one side of the table all the way to the other. I picked it up and noticed it was my dad's handwriting.
I don't know who made him in charge of writing the grocery list but they made a mistake. He only puts chips, ice cream, and candy on the list.
"Did you find the list?"
My mom said as she came into the kitchen. I held up the list and showed her exactly what my dad wanted me to buy.
"That's not the real list. Your dad replaced it with his own list" she shook her head and handed me a smaller piece of paper.
"That's not fair"
My dad said from behind the kitchen counter. He's been hiding there ever since I came into the kitchen. I just pretended not to see him.
The fake list explains why he said 'that idiot would never figure it out.' He's right, I had no clue that was a fake list.
"If you don't stop acting like a two year old I'm going to cross off your animal crackers"
He let out a puff of air and walked away stomping his feet. Like I said before he's a kid trapped in a grown man's body. I don't understand why was Silas afraid of him.
He's just a six foot man with big muscles, a sleeve tattoo, and a bat collection. That's nothing to be afraid of.
"Here's the money. If you not buying anything on that list keep your eyes to yourself and mind your business"
I nodded my head and took the money. If I see something I like I'm leaving my dad's crackers and buying it.
"I'm ready to go" Myra said as she came jogging down the stairs.
"Why does she have to go?"
"Because I said so. Myra you better keep your hands in your pockets and keep your eyes straight ahead"
She nodded her head and followed me outside. Myra and I are pretty familiar with my mom's rules. I've been hearing those rules ever since I was two.
Once we arrived to the grocery store I went straight to the junk food isle. I picked up some white Kit Kat and cookies and cream Hershey's. I love me some white chocolate.
I was about to leave the isle when I was meet with a lady in six inch heels, jean shorts and a crop. She looked about fifty six years old.
Girls be wearing heels to grocery stores like where are y'all going? The EBT Awards.
I took a look at the first thing on the list and went to the produce section. After I grabbed the milk, cheese, and bacon I turned around to put them in the cart only to be meet with a missing spot where Myra was.
This is why I don't like bringing her anywhere. She goes wondering around the grocery store like I won't hit her. She must not know I fight kids.
There's only one way to find her.
"Red Robin"
"Yummm"
She said coming from the chips isle. She placed a party sized bag of purple Doritos in the cart along with a bag of Takis.
