My eyes widened as I registered what's happening.

Silas just talked.

But most importantly he wants to kiss me.

"Silas, you could talk this whole time" He looked down and nodded his head.

"It's too late to be nodding your head now I already know you talk"

At this point I'm mad as hell. The first month of school I went through a whole block of paper passing notes to this guy in class because I thought he couldn't talk.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner sunshine. I was just scared"

"Scared of what?"

"Scared of getting too close"

I looked at him in shock. We've been friends for about three months now and I think we're getting closer and closer everyday.

I've never had a friend like Silas before. I could go to him with any of my problems and he'll give me good advice.

He's even great with Myra. As you can tell she isn't the nicest kid in the world but Silas still put up with her. If I were him I would've stayed far away from Myra. That girl is evil.

Even my parents like him. Well, maybe just my mom.

"Why would I leave you inky? You're the closet thing I have to a best friend"

"That's the problem, if I get too close to you I'm giving you the opportunity to walk out of my life. The less people I talk to is less people that can leave me"

His head hung low as he talked. I lifted his chin forcing him to look at me. He looks so broken. Like there's no hope for him.

Anger, pain, sadness. That's all I saw in his eyes. He looks like he's been through a lot. I don't want to pressure him to tell me though.

I just turned around and straddled his lap. I hugged him tightly as his hands went straight to my waist.

We stayed in that position for mintues. His hands where placed under my butt so he can hold me up. I ran my fingers through his hair as I softly laid kisses on his neck.

"I was nine years old when my parents left"

He started off. I pulled away from him and looked him in the eyes. He wasn't wearing his hoodie so I had a perfect view of that masterpiece he calls his face.

"Jordan had just been born that day. My egg donor told me to go get my grandma that was all the way in the waiting room. Being the nine year old that I was I listened to her, I went to call my grandma. Come to find out my grandma wasn't anywhere near hospital, they just wanted time to escape"

He paused and looked at me. Tears were threatening to spill out of his eyes. If I ever see his mom I'm pulling out her tracks for leaving Silas.

I nodded my head and motioned for him to continue.

"When I got back to the room my egg donor and my sperm donor were gone. The bags they bought were no longer sitting on the table and the cake the hospital gave her for giving birth was gone. They could've at least left the cake for me if they were going to abandon me"

I let out a small giggle causing Silas to smile. He has a beautiful white smile. He should think about becoming a model.

"Out of all the things they took they left Jordan. She was still sleeping in her little bed next to the hospital bed. It was that day that I decided I never wanted to get close to anyone. If my own parents just up and left me with my newborn baby sister what makes you think anyone I get close to won't leave? So, we lived with our grandparents until I was old enough to adopt Jordan and buy us a house"
