"When you play the game of thrones, you do or you die, there is no middle ground."
-Cersei Lannister, Game Of Thrones
"She's not answering her phone." Montegro growled out. Javier flung his phone to the wall and it clattered to the ground.
"Neither is Emi." He picked up his phone and tucked it in his pocket. There was only one person who could tell them what was going on. The commissioner himself.
"Get in." He told his cousin.
"Where are we going?" Javier asked, his mood became fowl and Montegro knew he was worried about emi, he was equally worried about Alex. His gut sank as his thoughts went south. Nothing was going to happen to them. They're safe. He had his best men guarding her and plus Duncan had his men protecting them. When he pulled up into the police station car park, he could vividly remember the 'first' time he actually met Alexandria Kane.
He could remember her objection to them and he could remember how her eyes looked at him, her brows would furrow, he remembered every small detail about her. He got out of the car and walked with his brother in arms aka Javier into the police station.
Everyone recognized them but no one dared to stop them, probably it was because they like the lords of the underworld or because their auras engulfed and suffocated whatever stupid courage they had to stand up and face them.
"Where's commissioner Hakkit?" Javier asked, the police officer closest to them didn't even reply, he just pointed to the office. They strode to Duncan's office and didn't bother to knock. When they entered, they saw the gray haired commissioner deep within his 'confidential files'.
"Hello old man." Montegro's smile was sick with dislike as he flashed the commissioner his pearly whites. The old man was surprised to see both of them in his office.
"What are you two doing here?" he asked.
"What's the status on Alex and Emi?" Montegro completely ignored his question but his question answered the commissioner's. He got up from his desk and walked over to an officer reading another bunch of files.
"James, contact Leones and give me a status on what's going on at Ms. Kane's residence." They all stood waiting but when the officer turned around, his face was full of confusion.
"Sir, the line's dead."
"Try Braylin."
"The same thing sir, it's dead."
"Give me that!" Duncan took the phone from the officer's hands and redialed the numbers. Their phones were off, he told to keep their phones on no matter what, keep their phones on. Montegro tried calling Leandro. His phone went straight to voicemail. He tried contacting to other guys, all their phones went to voicemail.
"Something's not right." All three men said at the same time. Montegro and Javier rushed out of the station with Duncan right behind them. Blood rushed through his veins as he slammed his foot on the gas. As they reached the neighborhood, they slowed and saw all the police officers there, all his men were standing there also but there was no sign of Leandro. He opened the door and got out. Javier did the same and casually strode to the officers.
"How everything going?" Montegro asked, his voice calm as Javier stood close to him.
"Everything's good." The answer was short and sweet. But yet something was wrong. He looked at all the officers guarding the front and spotted something. One had tally scores on his neck while the other had on his wrist. The one that stood in front of them clasped his gun and on his index finger there were six sets crossed through and two strokes by themselves.
