Alex

(five days later)

Emi and I received packages from the commissioner himself. It was printed with a huge 'confidential' on the front. When we opened, it was a huge booklet with the terms and agreement of the probation policy, which was , mind you, different from others. It took me two days to read through the 250 chapter, 1500 page policy. I had to scan through it again because I thought they forgot 'no emotional contact' I told Emi and she said hers didn't have that either. So my next step was to call the commissioner. I dialed the number and he picked up.

"this is commissioner Duncan Hakkit"

"Duncan, it's me, Alex"

"yes dear, is something wrong with the contract?"

"yes, well I think so, you see I don't see 'no emotional contact' in our contracts, was there a typo or misprint?" I asked. Duncan responded with a bit of laughter.

"Alex, there is no misprint or typo, there must be emotional contact, how else would they be able to change?"

"oh, well that makes sense" I said a bit awkwardly.

"is there anything else?"

"no, but thanks, I'll be going now, bye"

"bye dear" and he hung up.

I told Emi what Duncan said. She was a bit awkward too. Her green tinted hair was now back to it's beautiful brilliant blonde. We didn't tell the boys about the contract so they were clueless. We decided to let the topic drop. We were cooking in the kitchen when the stereo came on out of the blue. The song playing was 'i'm into you' Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne. I didn't care how the stereo came on, I was dancing to this song. I was an expert dancer, so rolling my hips and bending back at the same time; no problem. Couple seconds later, Emi was in the jam too. I was pretty much engrossed in dancing that I forgot we had two grown men in the house as well.

When the music stopped, we heard claps of applause in the back of us. We turned to see Montegro and Javier with smug expressions on the faces.

"oh hi" we said to them, our cheeks were bright pink. We pretended to ignore their amusement and go back to cooking.

"well that was quite a show" Javier said. Montegro nodded, explicitly eyeing my body. We gulped nervously.

"if you think that was a show, you should've seen Alex's performances they're on the top of the CDs next to the TV" I shot a look at Emi, she mouthed 'sorry' to me. The boys seemed to take an interest in this and walked off. When we finished cooking I walked to the living room, the TV was on.....

The guys were watching my dance performances. I sat down on the couch next to them. Montegro looked at me, I was startled when his eyes were almost black. There was hunger in those eyes. His lips were a tight line. His features seemed tensed.

Emi soon joined us. She sat next to Javier and laid back, taking in the video. I was sixteen at the time. I realized this was a spring dance, that would mean....the summer dance was next.... The summer dance was undoubtedly the performances where I had on the least clothes; meaning a sort of bra top and jeans shorts with tall knee high socks and Chuck Taylor's and don't forget my snapback. I was around eighteen at the time. I saw the video shift to the next one and I closed my eyes. I opened them and looked on quietly. Montegro shifted a bit. It came to an end soon after and I was glad.

I realized Emi left and Javier got up telling us goodnight. Wow ,they're kind of polite for gangsters. And once again we were alone.

I dwindled with my thumbs. I stole looks at Montegro hoping he wouldn't see me. He didn't but he seemed dazed.

"Montegro, are you okay?"

" hmm, what? Yeah just thinking"

"oh okay" I said. I was getting up when his hand tugged me back. I was taken aback by this. He pulled me to him.

"since when do you dance ?"

"since..I..started to walk...." I realized I was really close to him. Really close. He seemed amused by my awkwardness.

" what is your full name anyway? The police have a lot of respect for you"

" Alexandria Kane" I said. Montegro shot a look at me.

"Kane... As in commissioner Kane?"

" yeah, he was my dad"

"no way..." He said looking astounded. "your dad and my dad always had it out for each other you know, but they had that friendly rivalry, your dad actually visited us once" he ruffled his hair " a couple of times I did see you in his office, you had pigtails one time" he laughed. I gaped at him and slapped his chest. "I liked pig tails at that point in time" I huffed out. He raised his hands in surrender. And then I remembered him, Montegro Mundo, his hair was shorter then and tuffed up, he had a silver stud in one ear. Even then, he was pretty much hot.

"you...were...him...." I said slowly now realizing who he was. Damn. Montegro was the only boy other than Blake that I liked. I had a tiny crush on him. He grinned as of he knew what I was thinking. I also saw Javier and at that time, Emi and I were already friends. Javier always wore a hoodie even as we aged.

The last time I ever saw them was when I was fourteen. The day my dad retired and Montegro's dad was released, we parted ways and never looked back.

"we did come to your dad's funeral but I never saw you" he said.

" you did? Probably because there were so many people not to mention police force and army personnel." I stated truthfully.

"well if Pop were alive, he'd want to see you" he said, smiling sadly. "he always liked you"

"I would've liked that" I said holding a small smile. "i would've liked to meet him" He smiled to that.

He pulled me up as he got up.

"we need to sleep" he said. I agreed and went to my room after telling him goodnight.
