{John's POV}

Alex hesitated talking. I mean, who could blame him? Literally an hour ago we were bickering like normal. Now I'm asking about his personal life.

Alex pursed his lips. God, his lips looks so soft! ....wait what....

"You can't tell anyone...okay? I don't want them to think I'm weak...."

"I promise."

Alex sighed. "I'm an orphan. My father left when I was a baby, my mother, brother, and cousin died....I-I have no one.." Alex's voice cracked. I could tell he was about to cry. I honestly felt bad for him. I kind of understood why he had been such a trouble maker....he wanted to get someone's attention.

I cautiously hugged him. "I'm so sorry...."

Alex sighed and looked at the ground. A few tears ran down his face. "I miss them..."

I rubbed his back and laid my head on his shoulder comfortingly.

"Hey....do you think we can start over?"

Alex wiped the tears off his face. "I don't need your pity. My mom told me to stay strong and that's what I'm gonna do! I'm gonna stay strong!" Alex broke into new tears.

"Listen....showing emotions doesn't make you weak. Needing help doesn't make you weak. I really want to help you, Alex. I really do. I just need you to let me....please...."

Alex sighed. "F-fine..."

John got up and went to the kitchen. He got a cold rag and put it on the back of Alex's neck. He sat back down beside him and covered them in the blanket.

"I know it's nothing compared to your situation, but my dad was never really around for me either. He's homophobic, and he kinda separated himself from me when he found out I was gay...my siblings are pretty nice though....I have eight.."

Alex's eyes widened. "Eight?! Holy shit! Your parents got real busy!"

I couldn't help but slightly laugh at his remark. Now that I had seen this soft, gentle part of him.....something just seemed different.

He looked into my eyes and grinned a bit. I smiled back at him, examining his golden brown eyes again. The candle light really brought out Alex's features. His dark raven, silky hair, his peach fuzz on his chin, his soft lips....

I noticed Alex examining my features as well. I felt a warm sensation in my stomach.

Alexander gently placed his hand on my face, caressing my cheek. For the first time, I allowed it to happen. I felt my cheeks warming up and my stomach tingling as he looked into my eyes again.

Our faces slowly got closer together. Closer and closer, both of us feeling our eyelids cover our eyes.

He pressed his lips against mine. I felt the butterflies in my stomach explode as I gently kissed him back. I completely forgot the world around us, our old rivalry, the hate. It was just this moment.

After a few seconds we both slowly pulled away. I saw Alex's cheeks redden.

"Wait....did you just kiss me?"

"I-I think I did," I replied, still feeling the butterflies in my stomach.

Alex grinned. "May I do it again?"

I don't know what was controlling me in that moment....but I knew one thing for sure...

"Yes." Our lips connected again.

.I was in love..
