Time Goes By

Days after Lucia's secret was exposed, some of the Survey Corps began to harass her. Insults would always come around to stab her in the back without any pause. None of the harassment lead to any violence yet. Lucia would always mask her pain and sadness with her kind smile and cheery attitude. The only one who could see through the mask was Mikasa.

Lucia would spend each night in her room, crying. More insults would come flying through her like an arrow. Lucia isolated herself from everyone.

"I'm not a monster..." Lucia thought with despair. "I am just human like all of you..."

{Mikasa's POV}

I knew what Lucia was hiding behind the mask of kindness and cheerfulness. She was facing despair. Try all she may to hide it, but there were some cracks in the mask. I've noticed some of the Survey Corps members bother her about being a Titan Shifter like Eren. The soldiers were saying cruel things.

"Monster."

"She'll kill us all if we're not careful, so stay away from her."

"I wish you didn't exist."

"You should die."

"DIE ALREADY!"

As soon as that soldier yelled it out, I reacted. I pinned down one, and gave him a dark glare. Some of the other soldiers were scared of me.

"Shit! It's Mikasa Ackerman!"

"Let's go."

The soldiers harassing her left, leaving me to be with Lucia. She had pain in her eyes... I sat next to Lucia.

"Lucia... Are you alright? Why were these guys bothering you?"

Lucia looked away from me. "I don't know..."

I frowned. "Lucia... I know you're lying."

{Lucia's POV}

"Lucia... I know you're lying."

I didn't look at Mikasa, but I had a surprised look on my face.

"Does Mikasa know...?" I thought.

All the pain that's happened these past few days... I just wanted to shut my friends out because of fear... Why...?

Tears were filling my eyes. I couldn't even think. I quickly left the meal room and covered my eyes with my arm, not even paying attention to where I was going.

{Third Person POV}

Lucia was running, her arm covering as she was trying to dry her tears. She was scared to tell anyone that she wasn't alright. That she was being insulted and picked on. Lucia now became like Eren, who was trying to be strong, but was always of needing help at times.

She then ran into someone, accidentally falling on top of them.

"Ah!"

"Ooh!"

Lucia used her arms to gain balance and she slowly opened her eyes.
