Freiheit's Introduction

{Freiheit's POV}

I woke up early the next morning and wore most of my uniform, including the rose charm necklace Commander Pixis gave me. Today wad the day I become a Survey Corps soldier like Luci. I was nervous, but excited at the same time. Krista, my best friend, gave an encouraging hug.

"I wish you the best of luck Frei!" She smiled at me.

Krista always knew how to keep me happy. I'm glad she's my friend. Anyway, I didn't wear my Garrison jacket. I wouldn't be needing it anymore. Krista and I began walking to where Captain Levi and Commander Erwin were.

Once we arrived, the Commander smiled.

"I see you have made it just in time Freiheit."

I saluted him. "Yes Commander Erwin!"

He chuckled. "At ease. You don't have to salute me the whole time. Since I know your older sister, I should be able to trust you all the same."

I loosened up and stopped saluting him. Commander Erwin seemed so nice... It reminded me of when I was working with Commander Pixis.

{Freiheit's Flashback}

I did my usual Wall guarding duty. I seemed to be a child's role model in the Garrisons. There would be those occasions where one of the little girls would say, 'Look Mommy! There's Freiheit Hazelday, the kind-hearted Garrison!'. I would smile and wave at the girls as they walked by.

After my shift, I went to my room to change into my casual attire. Basically, a red blouse, black pants, and red shoes. I walked around the Garrison base to relax, then I see Commander Pixis. He went to me.

"Hello Freiheit. I see your shift ended for the day?"

"Yes Sir." I nodded.

"I see. Here's something I wanted to give you for your hard work."

He put something in my hand. I looked to see a rose charm necklace in my hand. It looked beautiful. We had a flower like that before the Titans came.

"Why... Thank you Commander." I looked up at him and smiled. "It's very lovely."

"You are very welcome Freiheit. I knew you loved roses, so this necklace was as close as I could get. This is also something to remember me when you decide to join a different military branch."

"You know Pixis..." I said calmly. "You are like a father to me... Ever since I joined the Garrisons, you made me feel like I'm not miserable."

"I know. You lost your family. Your mother was devoured by a Titan, your father died of illness, and your sister sent you to a safe place in Trost, then left."

"Yeah... but you always helped me out. You ensured my recovery."

Commander Pixis nodded. "I will see you tomorrow?"

"Yes Sir."

And with that, Pixis left. I smiled at the necklace in my hand, then I put it around my neck. I went to my room after that.

Commander Pixis was one of my closest friends...

{Freiheit's Flashback End}

I remembered that day. I wonder how Pixis is doing now? Anyway, I finally make it to the balcony with Commander Erwin, Captain Levi, and Krista. Luci was waiting for us.

"Luci?!" I looked surprised. "Why are you here?"

She chuckled. "I gotta vouch for my little sister now can't I?"

"Right! I almost forgot!"

I stood quietly on the balcony as everyone from below looked at me with a simple stare. Krista and Luci stood at my side. Commander Erwin spoke.

"Everyone!" He said with authority. "Allow me to introduce Freiheit Hazelday, the younger sister of our Major Lucia Hazelday!"

I approached to the edge of the balcony and saluted. He continued to speak.

"She will be joining the Survey Corps starting today, so I hope that everyone can help her when needed and treat her with respect. Major Lucia is vouching for Freiheit's transfer. Krista Lenz will share her room with Freiheit. I'm sure everyone will be acquainted with her in time."

Luci held a Survey Corps jacket and she handed it to Commander Erwin.

"Thank you Major." Commander Erwin handed me the jacket. "Wear this symbol of freedom."

I put on the jacket and saluted. Commander Erwin nodded and looked toward the soldiers below.

"Freiheit has chosen to fight for humanity's freedom! Salute for her bravery!"

Many of the soldiers below saluted, some didn't even salute at all. I kept my salute. Erwin then looked strict.

"Everyone's dismissed!"

Every soldier below scattered around and I finally walk to my room, wearing the Wings of Freedom on my back.

{Third Person POV}

Freiheit was greeting herself with the soldiers of the Survey Corps and most of them were really nice. She really liked talking to Armin and Reiner. She seemed to be fine with talking to the guys of the Survey Corps more than the girls, except for Krista.

Lucia smiled, seeing that her sister was pretty popular to the guys of the Survey Corps. She leaned against the wall, watching her sister.

It seemed to be a good day for both of them, or... Is it?
