Concerns and Needing Help

Lucia opened her eyes to see who she was on top of. The first thing she studied was the face. She saw blonde hair in a left side part and icy blue eyes. It was the Commander, Erwin Smith.

"OH MY GOD!"

Lucia's face turned red and she quickly moved back.

"I-I'm so sorry Commander Erwin!" Lucia spoke with embarrassment.

Erwin sat up and smiled kindly towards her. "You are fine Lucia, but you need to watch where you are going."

Lucia nodded. "O-Of course. I'll be more careful next time."

Lucia's face went to normal, but she looked dismal. Erwin looked at Lucia, worrying a little.

"Lucia... Are you alright? You look dismal..."

"I'm fine Commander Erwin." Lucia stood up, not looking at Erwin, tears in her eyes. "I-I should g-go..."

Lucia quickly went to her room and Commander Erwin looked concerned.

"What's the matter Lucia...? What are you not telling me?" Erwin thought with concern.

{Erwin's POV}

I watched Lucia run to her room as I looked concerned. Lucia went from cheery to dismal in seconds. What happened to her? Why was she like this?

I sighed and went to my office, becoming concerned for my top Major's well-being. Lucia is usually bright, confident, and pure. Now... She looked dismal and full of despair. I heard someone knock on the door.

"State your name."

"Eren Jaeger, Armin Arlert, and Mikasa Ackerman Sir."

I nod. "Enter. All of you."

Eren, Mikasa, and Armin entered my office with concerned looks on their faces. They must have came to ask about Lucia...

"Commander Erwin..." Armin said with concern.

"We have something to ask of you." Eren spoke quickly.

"You want answers to Lucia's condition."

All three of them were surprised of my response. Eren spoke.

"How did you-"

"I met with her earlier tonight." I looked up at them. "She looked so dismal. I have a few questions of my own..."

Eren, Mikasa, and Armin gave worried looks. I gave one of my own.

"I wonder..." I thought, then looked up at the three soldiers.

"Have you seen Lucia getting picked on since her secret was found out?"

All of them nodded.

"The day it started..." Armin spoke. "Lucia was being insulted by two Survey Corps soldiers. One was female, the other was male."

"Then..." Eren added. "I saw Lucia outside the castle during my cleaning hours. She was surrounded by three girls and I heard some very... hateful comments. Most of them were what I have been insulted with before."

"And recently..." Mikasa spoke calmly. "A few Survey Corps soldiers were insulting her as well. I heard them call her a monster and that she should just die."

I was concerned. These soldiers were afraid. They do not even know what they are doing to Lucia by saying these cruel words... Lucia is in a terrible state, and I am afraid that she could do something... heinous to herself...

{Third Person POV}

Erwin looked at Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. He gave a simple order.

"Starting today, I need you three to watch over Lucia, but without her knowing. If the insults increase to violence, get involved in the situation."

Eren, Mikasa, and Armin nodded and saluted.

"Yes Sir!" They all shouted.

Erwin dismissed them and sighed once they left. Every single day, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin took shifts in watching over Lucia. She would just get insulted as usual.

Time went by, and nothing much happened. Except for the usual insults Lucia was given. Eren started to grow concerned for her and remembered the time she helped him out.

"I need to help her like she helped me." Eren thought. "Lucia made me feel much better about myself and made me feel stronger. With her... I feel... like I'm free."

Eren smiled a little at the thought. He grew to love her.

Then... one day... everything went from worry to an almost certain tragedy. Eren took the shift to watch over Lucia that day. The usual insults were spread out, which made him feel a little despair to see that Lucia put up with this. There was... a difference in what happened next.

One of the Survey Corps soldiers, who insulted her, punched her in the face. Lucia fell to the ground from the impact, wincing in pain. It got much worse as the group of Survey Corps soldiers began beating her up with various punches and kicks. Lucia could only bear it as tears fell down her face. One soldier kicked Lucia hard in the chest.

Lucia gave out a tearful scream in pain. She whimpered.

"St-Stop..." Lucia winced. "Please... St-Stop!"

"Why should we you monster?!"

"You need to be dead. Just like the rest of them."

"Just die. Die already you worthless monster!"

Eren quickly took action, anger fueling his actions. He wasn't alone...

Captain Levi was already there before Eren, beating the soldiers senseless before they could even think. Eren gave a few beatings to the ones Levi missed.

Once they were done, Levi and Eren went to Lucia. Levi checked the pulse on her wrist.

"Thankfully..." Levi said with a cold tone. "She's alive."

Eren sighed a sigh of relief. "Thank God..."

Levi looked up at Eren. "Eren. I need you to carry Lucia to the infirmary. I will report this to Commander Erwin."

Eren nodded. "Yes Captain Levi."

Eren carefully picked up Lucia in his arms. Lucia had a bruise on her cheek from the punch in the face and was covered in various bruises. Thankfully, no bones were broken. Eren carried her to the infirmary and the doctors there took care of everything from there.

He was concerned, as well as he felt sorrow. Eren had felt sympathy for Lucia and what she was going through. He went, and still goes through, being picked on and beaten up over the fact that he was a Titan Shifter. Lucia had been suffering.

The main doctor arrived and looked at Eren.

"Major Hazelday is fine. Just some minor and major bruising from the beatings. You may enter if you want."

Eren nodded and entered the room. He grabbed a chair and sat down next to Lucia's infirmary bed. He sighed in relief knowing that Lucia was safe.
