The Crash

Oh god, how could this happen? Turns out, during Sebastian and Johnathan's fling, Eden woke up and couldn't find them. She wasn't worried too much then but when they didn't arrive for school, she knew something was wrong. "It's not like John to miss school!" She confided with Thomas, "Look, I know it's unusual," he pushed up his glasses, "but he's probably just sick or something. It's really nothing to worry about." "That's where you're wrong. I know somethings up, he wouldn't just disappear without letting us know, Thomas!" "Fine, go play detective for all I care, he's just sick or whatever, and I know it'll fill me with joy when I get to say I told you so." Thomas joked.
After all the other classes and everyone got to go home Eden went straight for her bike, hopped on, and rode down to get to Johnathan's house. She didn't live far, just cross the busy street from her neighborhood to get into Johnathan's, easy. She waited for the light and as she was moving, something happened. She was hit by a car. The driver was drunk and couldn't see her crossing, the helmet Eden had on helped a little but she did hit her head and crack the helmet, when that happened she gained a concussion and lost consciousness. Pedestrians nearby helped out and called an ambulance, Eden was rushed to the hospital. The paramedics called her parents and closest friends from her phone which wasn't password protected. She suffered three broken ribs, a broken leg, a fractured skull, neck, and wrist. Other than those she was expected to recover fairly easily if all goes well and she didn't fall into a comatose state. Sadly, Eden did fall into a coma. No one knew how long she'd be in that state, it really depended on her will to survive. Johnathan rushed into the hospital room Sebastian and Thomas quick at his side. He grabbed onto Eden's hand and squeezed as hard as he could, "Remember that Eden? When we were kids and I used to squeeze your hand? I know you're hurt badly but I really need you to come out of this...please," Johnathan's voice was shaky as he was holding back tears, "just, wake up ok? Wake up from your little nap and tell me it was all a prank ok? A prank to teach me a lesson about something." Eden didn't respond. "Just...wake up please... it's not funny anymore. I need to know you're ok...please, I'm begging you." Johnathan whispered, he only heard the sounds of the machines surrounding her. Sebastian put a hand on his shoulder. "Johnathan, we have to go. Visiting hours are almost up..." Johnathan shrugged Sebastian's hand off his shoulder and started sobbing into Eden. His best friend could die because of him. "This is all my fault, I'm so, so, so sorry." He said in-between sobs, "when you wake up we'll talk about movies, get you all your favorite clothes and...and...and you'll be happy and nothing like this will ever happen again." Johnathan cried. Thomas and Sebastian left, Johnathan and Eden were close so they deserved this time alone together.
Day after day went by, and Johnathan, and Thomas told Eden about their day, and what happened, that Kyle asked how she was doing and what Johnathan and Sebastian were up to. One day Sebastian called for Johnathan to join him outside the room. "I've been going over this in my head, up and down and backwards and forwards." Sebastian said,

"Let's run away."
