Parade

The Party

     I've never been one to really go to parties, but since Johnathan insisted I come with him I couldn't say no. I planned on just waiting for him outside but it was surprisingly cold out for spring break. So I had to go in, where all the people are, and the loud noises...is it really worth it? Does he even like me enough to come here?This is probably just an elaborate rouse to prank me or something.
     "No!! Don't think like that Sebastian, you'll spiral again..." I had to think to myself, I had to believe that he was coming. I'll just, Ah! I'll just sit here on this couch and wait for him! Great idea Sebastian! Except for the fact that there are now two people making out on this couch...well, guess I can't do much about it. Suddenly the door slammed open, and all I hear is this idiot yelling something like "I am here!!" Or whatever...I wonder who that is...? I turned my head to see; and of course. It's my idiot. He's gonna make a fool out of himself if I don't step in now...I got up from my spot on the couch and rushed over.
     "Jonny, hey are you ok? Do you need some water or something?" I laughed nervously, every-time my mom got this drunk I had to take control of the house, but Johnathan's a loose canon type. I didn't know if he'd pass out right then and there or sober up after a minute. All I knew was that I couldn't let him get himself killed.
     "Heyyyy~, Sebby!! Whassup...man!" Johnathan choked out, I hate to admit it but he's actually kinda cute when he's in a drunken haze.
     "Johnathan are you ok? Do you need anything? Uh-where did you get that?" I pointed at the beers he was holding under his left armpit, "Did you steal those?!"
     "What? No, my uhhhhhh....sister paid for them!"
     "You stole them didn't you?"
     "Ok, FINE! I stole em! That's what took me so long to get back here, you happy now?" Johnathan stuttered, I sighed.
     "Yes Jonny, I am happy that you didn't get hurt at least. That's so dangerous, what if the store guy got you?"
     "Pfft, they wouldn't. Bunch a COWARDS!"
     Johnathan yelled out the door, as if they could hear him.
     "Well, all that matters is that you're safe. Put those beers somewhere. I'm gonna take a walk..." I stepped outside and started walking, it was awfully dark, I was practically out of sight of the party when I was grabbed out of nowhere and pulled into an alleyway. Where these two guys around their mid-twenties, junkies probably, tried to mug me.
     "Give is all your money jack ass or we'll kill you!" One of the junkies demanded,
     "Listen guys...I don't have any money, just let me go alright? I don't want any trouble..." I responded, it was hard to choke out the words when I noticed one of the junkies had a box cutter in their pocket.
     Suddenly, a loud crash occurred next to my ear, behind me somewhat, and Johnathan came slinking around with a broken glass bottle, still stuck in his drunken state.
     "Hey dick bags! Leave him alone! Or I'll kill you!"
     Johnathan yelled, it was an empty threat but I guess the guys believed it because they let me go, and ran off.
     "Yeah you better run!! And don't mess with my Sebastian ever again!" Johnathan yelled after them.
     "Kids might I speak with you for a moment?" The voice behind me and Johnathan spoke. That's when I noticed the red and blue flashing lights, those junkies weren't scared of Johnathan, they noticed the cops before we did.
     Suddenly Johnathan grabbed my hand, my face went red up until I realized that we were running now, from the police! They didn't give chase, so we could relax once we reached the party again. Johnathan and I sat outside.
     "Hey, um, thanks for saving me back there Jonny, that was really brave of you. Stupid, but brave."
    "I'd do it again in a heartbeat." Johnathan responded.
     "Please don't." I begged, "Well, I should be getting home, it's rather late and my mom is probably worried about me..." I started to get up but Johnathan pulled me back down and kissed me, a "parting gift" as he phrased it, I kissed him back after I got over the shock of course.
     "I love you Sebastian, I love you so much." Johnathan said.

"I love you too" I replied.
