Friend Zone (Ross Lynch/R5 fanfic)

Chapter 14

I stood there in front of Macy High School. This was not my school. This was not my home. No one can say other wise. I pushed the doors open. You know in those really cheesy movies, where everyone has their eyes on the new person that walks in the building. I swear it was like that, but it was my nerves. Sort of that was until one girl came up to me. "Hey aren't you Ross Lynch's best friend." I looked around awkwardly. How was I supposed to answer that? I don't want them talking to me because of who I am friends with.

"Uhm no." I decided to say.

"Yeah your Kayla Miller, I reconize you from the pictures and the Kids Choice  Awards." I nodded. I looked over her shoulder.

"Look I have to go find the counsiling office about my schedual." I said. "It was nice to meet you." I scruied past her. I then felt someone by me.

"Sorry about her, she is my sister Niki," the guy said by me who had to much of higher voice for a guy. "I am Jordan by the way but you can call me Jo." I noticed he had grey scarf wrapped around his neck. 

"Hey I am Kayla." I smiled holding my hand out to him.

"Well Kayla, you need help around the school." I thought for a minute it would be nice to have at least one friend, instead of being a loner.

"Sure that would be great." I kept listening to him talk about fashion, and different events. He mentioned choir. Which I really wanted, at least I could be do something I loved that I shared with my friends back home. 

"Then there is Prom in a month." My eyes lifted up.

"Prom?" I asked making sure.

"Yeah, have you never heard of a prom." I shook my head.

"No it's not that. Our school stopped proms my freshmen year." I looked over at him.

"Well if you don't have a date by then, you can join me and my boyfriend." I looked over and smiled. "Yes. I am gay." he looked over with a small smile.

"THAT IS SOOO CUTE." I cooed. He just shook his head and laughed. 

"I wish more people were like you." I shurgged.

"Love is love man." I stated.

"Okay well here is the office, I can wait if you would like." I shook my head.

"I'm good, you should get to class I just heard the warning bell." he nodded. 

"Save you a seat a lunch?" I nodded.

"Sure I will be there." I commented.

Riker's POV (Who saw that coming?)

Ross was in a huge funk. He isn't eating. He isn't singing. Kayla gone has made his life a living hell, he hasn't been to school, and when he is there Jessica and Ashley say he is purposly trying to get into trouble. I looked over at my younger brother with sympothy. I sat next to him. "Ross." he looked up from his phone. Then looked back down and stared at pictures, I looked over on his phone. He was just staring at pictures of Kayla and him. "Ross, this isn't healthy what you are doing to yourself." he shook his head. 

"I miss her." was the first thing he said in a week.

"Ross we all miss her, she was and is a big part of our family, look Jessica, Rydel, and Ashley are broken they lost their best friend." Ross looked back up at me.

"But, they didn't loose the love of their life, they didn't loose the person they are gonna spend the rest of their life with." i just shook my head. 

"Have you heard from her?" he nodded.

"I talk to her everyday." he simply said.

"How does she feel about you acting like this?" I asked.

"She doesn't know." he stood up and walked out of the living room and walked out side. We need to do something about this. I walked to Rydel's room where the girls were, and knocked before walking in.

"Did you talk to him?" Rydel asked.

"I did, he is heartbroken. He needs her or he at least needs to say some final things to her, he can't just say over phone." Jessica's phone went off.

"It's Kayla!" she smiled. She clicked it on and put it on speaker.  "Hey Kayla!" she sang.

"Hey Jess! Hey girls!" she sounded a little different. "So guess what? They have a prom here! It's in three weeks!!" she said excidly.

"Really that's great!" Rydel said. "You have a date."

"Ehh sorta. I am going with my friend Jo and his boyfriend" she sighed. "I miss him guys."

"We know you do." Ashley said softly. "You will see him soon."

"Oh crap I have to go Jo, is here and we have a choir project." she said fastly. "I love you all," I smiled. "You too Riker." How did she know I was here?

There was an end to the phone call. "Guys I have an idea." I ran out of the room.

Kayla's POV

I hung up the phone. It wasn't because Jordan was here. Well he was here, but it wasn't the reason. "Jordan, do you wanna go shopping with me?" I asked.  "It almost prom, and I need to get a present for Rylands birthday."

"Sure." I grabbed my keys and my Iphone. I looked at  screen. "You really miss him don't you?" I nodded. 

"He was and is my everything." I stated.
