Chapter 5
Baby?
Peeta didn't come back till later, but when he came back he just tried to comfort me. It only made me cry more. I couldn't help build the family that Peeta wanted, I couldn't have children, and explaining that to him was painful enough. He kept telling me everything was fine, that we don't need children to be happy but I knew he was devastated. That night I slept alone in the guest room, my dreams just made me upset. In them we had a little boy, our own child. Peeta was so happy and the fact I couldn't give him that in real killed me. I woke up crying, but the cries quickly became sobs which brought Peeta to my side. I explained what was going on, the dream and hop I couldn't give him the happiness he had in my dreams.
"Katniss, it's okay. We don't need a baby, I love you I'm happy with you." He smiles at me, his lips against my forehead filling me with the warmth just like the day on the beach.
"I love you too." I sigh and lay in his arms. I just wanted him to be truly happy. It was quite for what felt like forever and I loved it, we sat together peacefully until the ringing phone broke the silence.
