chapter 13
It took almost two days to reach district 12, walking all through the day and night. It wasn't as easy as hoped for. As we neared the border lines of District 12 a light snow began to fall that only got worse and worse. It took what felt like years but was really only house to reach our home in 12.
Peeta and I pushed open the doors of our home in victors village, leaving room for the others to make their way in. Buttercup sending a foul breathed hiss to all the new company before making a dash for the stairs.
"Don't mind the cat." Peeta says.
"Still praying for its death.." I mumble. It was true Buttercup was the closest thing to Prim but that didn't change my mind about him.
Peeta and I grabbed a light load of things, a coat and a weapon or two. While waiting for everyone to prepare themselves I saw Dayo cuddling up to Buttercup, I'm surprised his eyes haven't been clawed out of his head yet. I must've been staring because his attention turns from the beast to me.
"The snow has begun to let up, we'll soon be on our way." he announces.
"And where is it we're going?"
"District Zero."
