"Half way there hun," my dad says while patting my leg.  "I just can't wait for you to get settled in!' he says so happily I just can't help but smile.

My dad isn't too emotional.  He's happy most of the time, but he doesn't jump around or do anything except for smirk or smile every once in a while.  This must be really important for him to finally get to live with his true love.

true love

I'm happy that i have a mom again, but it just feels so awkward to say that she was his true love.  I didn't really know my mom, she passed when I was a baby.  It didn't really bother me.  I love her as anyone else would love their moms, but i had no connection with her.  Dad never talks about her she was just kind of... there.

I'm excited to see my step-mom again!  I love her!  She always wished she had a daughter so she always takes me shopping and plays with my hair and helps me with girl stuff like crushes and break ups.  It's fun I guess.

"OOH OOH! CAN WE STOP FOR ICE CREAM?" Gretchen yells from the backseat.

"No, hun.  You can get ice cream after we get settled in our new home."

"But I want it nowwww!" she cries.

"We're almost there, now quit your whining! You're giving me a headache!" he says with a chuckle.

~~~20 Minutes Later~~~
"Alright girls, we made it.  We made it in one piece!" my dad says as the car pulls into the driveway.
"YAAAAAY!" my sister celebrates.  I turn around and see her dancing in her seat and holding herself up, her hands propped on the armrests of her pink and black car seat.  "ICE CREAM ICE CREAM ICE CREEEEAAAAAAAMMMMM!!!" she shouts.
"Not yet hun, we have to get settled in first.  Kadi, why don't you jump out and go knock on the door for me?  I have to go pay the movers before we get started." my dad says as we pull into the driveway.
I hop out of our Black, Cadillac Escalade (My dad is wayyy into trucks, so I kind of picked up a thing or two.) and walk to the front door.
This thing is huge!  I've never seen one this big.  No, not the house, the freakin door! That's a garage door I swear!
I ring the doorbell and the chimes of the doorbell play to the tune of "We Will Rock You".  Hmm... ok that's really weird... but I guess it's pretty cool that they don't have a normal doorbell.
Click
The door swings open and my step-mom, Barbara hugs me and then runs past me to pick up Gretchen and kiss my dad.
"I missed you guys!" she squeals as she half walks half runs in her high heels into the house with Gretchen.
"Honey don't get too excited yet!  We still have to move in!" my dad yells after her.
I can hear Gretchen having fun in there and shouting,
"ICE CREAM ICE CREAM!!!"
My step-mom chuckles, then plops my sister on the granite top counter and walks over to me, still standing there almost in a trance at the front door.
"I see your sister is excited," she says with a smirk. "want to come with Gretch and I to get some ice cream?" she asks.
"Nah, I just kind of want to be alone right now."
"Oh come on, just one little ice cream won't hurt.  They have your favorite; strawberry!" she says with a pleading look in her eyes.
"Ok, ok."
We walk to the ice cream store, about a block away. and I order my strawberry ice cream, Gretchen orders her double fudge brownie, and Barbara gets her chocolate covered frozen banana; all as usual.
We sit and talk for a while about the move, and how there are a lot of cute boys that come to the neighborhood because of our neighbors across the street.  I bet he's cuuutttteee.  Barbara says he's just about my age too!  She said she was planning on inviting them for dinner tonight if we got done in time.  Cool!  At least have ONE friend.
I decide to walk home, without them because Gretchen could stay all day to look at those fish behind the counter.  All that's in the tank are a couple goldfish, but when the store first opened, about a month ago, Gretchen got to name the fish.  So she named one happy, one skipper, and one Gretchy.  Typical Gretchen names.  That's what all of our pets' names have been.
Walking home; I realize i'm on the wrong side of the road.  I'm real close to the popular neighbor's house, maybe i'll just knock on the door and introduce myself.
knock
knock
knock
The door is opening...
"Uhh hey, you're the new neighbor, right?" I hear a boy's voice.  I haven't looked at him yet because I just realized i'm still in pajamas... oops
Ok Kadi, I have to look up now...
HAYES GRIER?!
 Sorry if there were any typos!  I was kind of in a rush but I will be editing soon, and don't worry, it won't take as long as last time to get the chapter out ;)
That's all for now folks!
