Chapter 5: The New Girl

Hayes' POV

shut up! 

now is not the time Nash!

Yell at me all you want, but do it later!

I think I like this girl and you are not going to mess this up!

...

I say as I punch him in the face and swoop off with Kadi in my magical pony mobile.

Seriously, don't just stand there and hint, you've got to say something.

"Uhh-"

I grab Nash's arm and pull him out onto the front step, while shutting the door.

"Dude what the hell are you doing?" he asks as if I'M the one screwing things up around here.

"ME?! Dude, I think I like this girl.  I'm NOT letting you mess this up because you only care about your own self!" I yell, but it's ok, we have sound proof doors.  I have no idea why, though.

"HAHAHA!  You can't like her!  Y-"

"Why? Because I do everything you do, and you never liked her?"

"No, because you don't know her." he says with a calm, almost parental voice.

And then without another word, he walks back into the house, nods at Kadi, and runs up the stairs.

ok well that was an episode that did NOT need to happen, thanks Nash.

"What happened?  I saw some pretty angry arm shaking out there," she says with a small jokingly smile.

"Ahh nuthin!" I say, getting all happy inside again when she talks. "Forget about him!  Do you want to... watch a movie?  Here!  How about you come meet Skylynn!" I say, trying to think of what most girls would want to do. I think I spoke just a little too loud, and a little too excitedly, though.

I can't help it, I hardly know her, but I think I have a serious crush on Kadi.

"Heheh sure," she says with that 'you're such a cutie pie' voice, almost like i'm a little kid. So I man up my voice a little bit.  

"Erm- I mean let's go watch some TV" I say, and may I say, I said it very manly.

We walk down to the basement and I turn on the TV, of course my sister Skylynn was watching TV before me and Bubble Guppies is on. 

"Bu-bu bubble ,

Gup- gup guppies,

Bubble bubble bubble,

guppy guppy guppies!" I sing along very quietly. I watch this with Skylynn all the time, so I kind of know the lyrics.

" You have seen this show before?" she asks a laughing.

I blush,

big time.

"Yeah, I uhh... I watch it with Skylynn." I say a little embarrassed.

"Aww that's adorable!  The things she does for you..." she does a fake sigh.

"HEY!" I laugh.

I flick on a horror movie, "Texas Chainsaw" to be exact.  I don't really know how I feel about horror movies, like yeah they're scary, but i know they won't actually happen, most of the time.  I just pretend to be a man until a scary part comes up, and i jump... and scream a little bit...

I look aver, and Kadi is like on the verge of crying from this movie!  I grab the remote, switch it to Care Bears, and scooch over to hug her and hold her tight. 

"I's ok" I say with a chuckle, "I got you."

She looks almost with a victory look in her eyes, maybe she likes me! No, who am I kidding?  She has a brain, and she's smart enough to realize that you can't like someone the day you move in.

Oh well, 

I guess I just have to try to make her like me...

Kadi's POV

I TOTALLY LIKE HIM

It's not crazy... right?

I mean he held me until I stopped crying, how many girls does he do that to? I think one...

I just want to hug him!  Start off school being Hayes Grier's girlfriend!

Don't think I want him for popularity, that's not the kind of person I am.

That's just a plus.

I get a text from Barbara to "come home from wherever I am and get ready for dinner".

Oh! dinner! I forgot about dinner,and  now I can't wait.

"I have to go i'm sorry, but you're coming over for dinner, right?" I say trying to play it cool.

"Yeah! See you then." he says .

and I leave.

This is going to be a GREAT rest of my life!
