It was cold. Yoongi was so, so cold.

And yet, he had the heater on and wrapped himself in a blanket with Holly snug against him; nothing seemed to work.

Yoongi finally relaxed after screwing his eyes shut, letting out a shaky breath. Opening, his eyes, he brought the brown dog closer to him, burying his nose into the soft fur.

Namjoon and Jin had finally let Yoongi return to his home, however, the officer missed the warmth of the three dogs against him.

An hour had already passed, then another and another until it was five minutes past three. Yoongi had to face it.

He can't sleep.

It's not the first, yet he considered giving up. Just giving up working as an officer, give up trying to be the best for Namjoon and Jin, give up on Hoseok. Maybe even give up on himself, he didn't know.

Yoongi nudged Holly off the bed, the dog scrambling to its feet as Yoongi got up himself.

Water should fix it. Maybe he's just dehydrated and isn't thinking straight.

Yoongi drapes the blanket around himself, shuffling across the room's carpet and out the hallway and down the stairs, Holly padding behind him.

Walking into the kitchen, Yoongi fills a glass with cold water, almost downing the whole drink in one breath. He drank another glass, even pouring water into Holly's empty water bowl and letting the dog drink.

He guesses they were both thirsty.

But the water wasn't helping.

Sighing, Yoongi places the empty glass in the sink, standing in the kitchen and staring at his feet.

Holly, now more awake, padded up to Yoongi, wagging his tail and pebbled eyes sparkling in the minimal light of the moon.

"Holly..." Yoongi murmured, crouching in front of the brown dog, patting his head gently. He eventually scoops Holly into his arms, squeezing the dog so tight he let out a small whimper. "I'm sorry, Holly," Yoongi sniffled, wiping the tears that threatened to fall from his eyes. "I'm just... I don't know what to do..."

Holly barked as a knock resonated from the door, the dog lunging form Yoongi's grasp and yipping at the door. Yoongi shot up to his feet, staring with wide eyes at the entrance.

Who was knocking at three in the morning?

He searched through the cabinets and cupboards as the knocking continued, eventually finding a Glock behind the pots and pans, checking if it was loaded.

Then the knocking stopped, Yoongi swallowing a dry lump as he approached the door.

Holly kept barking, snarling, growling, angry at the door.

He hushed Holly, holding the handle as he aimed the gun's barrel at the door.

Almost ripping it open, he aims the gun at a shadow, letting out shallow breaths as he furrows his eyebrows.

The man raises his hands in surrender as Yoongi fumbles to turn on the porch lights.

However, as he glances back at the man, he drops his gun, placing his hands over his mouth to prevent a gasp from escaping.

"Hoseok?" Yoongi's eyes were wide, tears forming as he observed the man. Orange hair, tanned skin, dark eyes.

"Yoongi..." Hoseok smiled small, furrowing his eyebrows, stumbling back slightly as Yoongi lunged forward, wrapping his arms around Hoseok's torso and pulling him close. Tears tore from his eyes, screwing them shut as Hoseok returned the embrace, wrapping his hands around Yoongi's waist.
