Jungkook tapped his foot against the floor, slouching on a chair as he stared out the windows.
His flight had got delayed, however, that wasn't the reason he's gotten so anxious.
He needed to get out of California, quick. Jin had informed him about Yoongi's recent discovery, and Taehyung's advice littered his mind. Jimin was close to finding him, it was only a matter of time until he's discovered. If they find him, it'll ruin Jin, Namjoon and even Jimin's perfect life. He was done ruining more.
His flight was called, Jungkook almost shooting up from his seat. He gripped his bag tightly, walking over to the escalator. It took forever until he boarded the actual plane. The attendants welcomed him inside, giving him bright smiled which Jungkook hesitantly returned.
He sat in his reserved spot, feeling his phone vibrate. He ignored it the first time, however when it continued twice, thrice, five times, he couldn't help but check.
They were texts, reading:
Jungkook. Please.
You need to come back
You have to come back
The hospital, it's Jimin.
Jungkook, please...
All coming from Taehyung. Another was sent with the address of the hospital, however, Jungkook returned to the previous five texts, reading them continuously until something took a seat next to him, making him jump.
"Sorry," The woman mumbled, giving Jungkook a small glance before returning to her phone.
Jungkook read the thread of texts the last time until he shut off his phone. He stared out the window then glancing around the plane; he noticed it was near to full.
It was now or never.
Jungkook didn't know what the situation was with Jimin. Was he in the hospital, was this just a ploy to get him back, did Jimin attack the hospital?
However, he couldn't help his rapid heartbeat or fidgeting hands.
It sounded urgent...
He was so close to New Jersey; he was so close to losing Jimin.
Was he even ready to lose Jimin again?

Jungkook gasped and wheezed as he ran to the hospital. His uber had been caught in traffic, his phone had died, and tension brought him down. He couldn't wait anymore, so he ran to the hospital once they were near enough.
He rushed to the receptionist, a man overwhelmed by Jungkook's sudden appearance.
"Park, Jimin?" Jungkook asked, panting and trying to catch his breath.
"Oh, uh-" The man typed something into his computer, glancing up. "He's here, but... Only family is allowed in-"
"I don't care about this family bullshit! I'm one of the closest people to him- Just let me fucking see him!" Jungkook screamed at the man, many people giving them confused looks which Jungkook ignored.
"Sir-"
Jungkook reached into his pocket, fumbling with his wallet and pulling out his badge. "Let me fucking see him, or, so God help me, I will-"
"Sir, please leave or I will call security," the man glared at Jungkook who let out an exasperated sigh. He rushed around the first floor eventually recognizing a blonde-haired man sitting by the entrance to the ER.
"Tae!" Jungkook called out, running over to the man.
Taehyung sat on the cold tiled floor, against the white walls and head resting between his legs. When Jungkook called out to him, he carefully raised his red face, eyes very puffy and red to the endless crying. He looked exhausted. Seeing Jungkook just made him close his eyes and rest his craned head against the wall.
"Tae, are you okay? What happened?" Jungkook crouched beside Taehyung, pulling the older into an embrace he hesitantly returned.
"I'm sorry I texted you... I- I didn't know what to do and- I was lost, God, you should be on your way to New Jersey by now. Shit, I'm sorry Jungkook," Taehyung rambled.
"No- No this is more important than New Jersey," Jungkook mumbled pulling away from Taehyung and grabbing his shoulders. "What happened?"
Taehyung burst into tears again, burying his face into Jungkook's chest.
Jungkook ran a hand on Taehyung's back, letting him soak his hoodie with tears and muffling his sobs into the black clothing.
Jungkook waited until Taehyung calmed himself, letting out shallow breaths as his grip on Jungkook's hoodie lessened.
"Jimin... Hoseok shot him," Taehyung mumbled. "He's lost too much blood and they won't let me see him. The bullet went through vital organs and it took awhile to get him to the hospital." Jungkook recognized the dried blood on Taehyung's clothing and hands, frowning at the sight.
"What are they doing now?" Jungkook asked.
"The doctors said they'll try to get a blood transfusion but... they first need to get the bullet out and treat the wound and just- Jungkook, I don't know what to do without Jimin. I can't think properly, it's- It's-"
"Hey, hey," Jungkook mumbled cradling Taehyung's face. "We should go outside, I think it's too stuffy in here for you, come on."
Jungkook helped Taehyung up, taking him outside and sitting on a bench.
"Shit, I shouldn't have taken so long..." Taehyung mumbled, wiping away his tears. "Jimin wanted to work late again, so he couldn't attend the meeting with Mark. I went, and- and I let myself go and decided it'd be great to get drunk. Kino called me and I had the nerve to get mad at him instead of heeding his concerns." Taehyung sighed. "He said he heard gunshots and tried calling Jimin, I'm so fucking stupid, this is all my fault."
"Hyung, it isn't your fault, you didn't know!" Jungkook frowned. "Please don't blame yourself, you aren't at fault here."
Taehyung pressed his lips together, casting his eyes at the ground.
Jungkook didn't know if he could even say likewise for himself. Taehyung didn't do shit. It was Jungkook who hid from Jimin; it was him who thought leaving without a single word was a great idea.
Taehyung just wanted what was best for Jimin even if it meant doing the worst thing. He wanted to protect Jimin, however; it appeared he failed at that as well.
Jungkook didn't realize he cried until tears dripped from his chin and spotting to back of his hands.
"Shit..." Jungkook mumbled. It wasn't the first time he wasn't crying about Jimin. However, instead of fearing Jimin, he was scared for Jimin.
While, yes, he's blocked Jimin off from his life by hiding, Jimin was still there. He didn't contemplate if he could even see a future without Jimin forever.
He was the first to care, the first to make Jungkook really smile
Jungkook just... he couldn't imagine his present status without Jimin.
Without Jimin, he was nothing.
He tensed when arms wrapped around Jungkook, relaxing and burying his face into Taehyung's neck.
"It'll be fine, Kookie," Taehyung sighed, crying himself. "Jimin will be fine. And if he was... to... Ya know... I'll still be here okay? For you, because I know Jimin would love that too."
They sat there in absolute silence for a moment before Jungkook nodded.
"Thank you hyung."
