*Not really happy with this chapter, so I may end up changing it soon. Sorry for any mistakes that may pop up. I am yet to read through and edit this.* Picture above is William in his armour.
Enjoy!
Dropping to my knees beside the stretcher, my hands shook as I reached to touch his face. He was badly bruised, with dried blood sitting just under his nose. His left eye was swollen shut and a small cut ran over his right eye brow. He face and chest were dirty, and the more I looked the more I could see little cuts, signs he was in a struggle with the rogues.
His chest was left bare, with a bandage wrapping around his middle before moving over his right shoulder. Whoever had done this made sure that he would be greatly hurt. Sucking in a breath I watched his chest rise and fall with every breath he took, but something caught my attention.
Leaning closer towards him, I noticed the scar seemed to be a brighter colour than it was back in the cave. Now that I could get a good look, I couldn't help but feel the scar made a pattern. If I looked hard enough I would say it was of a dragon's tail.
"He can't be." I whispered. But then I remembered Toban confirming it. I had forgotten all about him being a rider. With everything that had happened, it easily slipped my mind. Toban had said something about Luca not being needed anymore. The more I gazed at the mark the more I wondered where his dragon was.
The sounds of rushed footsteps neared the tent, as I could hear William calling my name. Afraid William would too see the mark, I quickly covered his chest with the small blanket. Leaning back on my feet, I waited for the footsteps to sees. With the sound of the tents flap being thrown aside, I could feel William's heated gaze on me. He didn't say a word and that scared me. Usually he would be yelling at me for running off for no reason, and as I turned my head to look at him I noticed he hurt that covered his face. He didn't hide it.
It wasn't until I felt something warm roll down my cheeks, did I notice I was crying. William watched as more tears fell, and without a word he turned and left, leaving me alone in the tent with Luca. Sighing, I closed my eyes.
The look on Williams face before he left flashed before my eyes. He was hurt, no he looked more than that. He looked broken. Taking a seat beside Luca's bed, I gently picked up his injured hand. His knuckles were cut and bloody. He must have tried to fight his way out from the rogues. Bring his hand closer to my face, I carefully rested my cheek on his knuckles.
Closing my eyes once more, I felt warmth spread through my veins and up to my hands. "Eless- as me." Sighing, I felt like all my energy had been pushed out of my body. Resting my head on his chest, I listened to his steady heartbeat. With his hand still clasped in my own, I let myself fall into the darkness.
Struggling against the restraints on my wrists, I fought to keep the rogues away from me. Looking down I noticed I wasn't in my own body. Gazing at a rogue, I watched as he raised the blade. Looking at the reflection I noticed I was in Luca's body.
With a feral growl the blade was pushed into my shoulder. Screaming at the pain, I also heard Luca's voice over my own. Leaning closer, the rogues grinned showing his black teeth that dripped with a green liquid.
Pulling on the restrains, I once again tried to free myself but it was no use. Feeling the blade move over my skin, I looked down to see my dragon's mark being carved away. Screaming once more, I heard laughter fill the room.
Walking towards us with a smirk on his face, Toban held up is hand stopping the rogue.
"Your dragon has been dealt with. You are no longer a rider, and can no longer serve me." He growled out.
