Please read A/N at the end. Thank you and enjoy!

Pushing the dagger into the sheath on my thigh, I felt my heart spike in fear. Today we were to leave for the kingdom, and the more I thought over the battle plan the more I wondered if we would make it. The red moon was getting stronger and with every day that had passed since its arrival, I could feel my veins pulsing with life.

Taking a deep breath I turned my attention to the rest of the riders. Talios slapped his dragon on the leg, as a hearty laugh escaped his lips causing my own to twitch at the sound. Matthew as always, kept his expression blank but I could see right through it. The way his dragon gazed around at the scenery only told me they were both worried.

Off to the side near a few of the king's guards, Luca sat on a log as he sharpened his sword. Beside him, Torren was already geared out with his own armour. Luca had been gifted Torren as he needed a rider. With Luca being the only rider without a dragon, it seemed like a perfect fit. After all it wasn't Luca's fault for the death of his dragon.

Moving my gaze further around the area, they came to rest on a certain someone's muscular back. Dressed in his royal gold armour, William leant over a table with an outline of the kingdom. We had been informed that the royal guards would be traveling through the tunnels whilst the riders and their dragons waited for the signal to attack. This action would cause a lot of death, but it was a risk the men were willing to take.

As I continued to watch William move about, the guards bowed before leaving. Nudging the side of his head Zor whined. Patting the side of his head William's mouth moved but I wasn't able to catch what he said.

Your mind is clouded, rider.

Turning my in the direction of the loud footsteps, Aurora slowly sank to her tummy. Her armour was silver, causing her purple almost blue scales to stand out proud under the thick protection. Again, she was covered more than the other dragons.

Licking my lips, nodded. "I'm worried of what is to come." Standing to my feet, I made my way closer to her. Inspecting the armour, I nodded in approval. Not one vital area was missed. "I'm also worried we may lose men."

These men you speak of, have chosen this. It was written in their destinies since the day they were born. Lowering her head towards mine, a soft puff of air escaped her nose. They know the risk's Abagail.

With a shake of my head, my eyes danced over the riders once more. "None of them deserve death."

To die is an honour for the dragon riders, and a risk they willingly take.

"Even so, I'll make sure our men make it back home to their families." A soft chuckle entered my mind followed by Aurora's check resting on the side of my head.

Spoken like a true Queen.

For the rest of the day I didn't see William. He had been busy directing the king's guard on the actions to take. With the meeting of the riders underway, a few of the men were worried about those people stuck inside the kingdom.

"What if they find out and kill all the innocents?" Yelled Talios.

"We need to make sure all those inside are unharmed!" yelled another rider.

William continued to stare at the table, as if his mind was a mile away. He hadn't said a word since the start of the meeting, instead Luca had taken charge. Luca had explained all the entrance points to the kingdom, and where the king's guards would be.

Standing from his seat across from me, Luca placed his hands down on the table with a loud bang, causing the rest of the men to stop their arguing. "The kings guards are under strict orders to get all innocent's out. Kill any rogue on sight that you see, even if the resemble someone you once knew."

At his last words his eyes flickered to me. I knew who he was talking about, and he didn't have to worry about me not attacking Markus. I had made it my mission to find him and end his life for good. No type of magic would be able to bring him back to life once I was done with him.

Nodding, I cleared my throat. "What do you think about the plan, my King." I spoke loud and clear.

Flicking his eyes up at me, i noticed something quickly flash before his blue eyes. Worry? Regret? Whatever it was, it was gone before I could analyse it further.

Standing to his full height, William gazed at everyone before him. "We know this battle is going to be a tough one. Whether or not Anna knows of our arrival means nothing, the fight will still be the same." Licking his bottom lip, he walked closer to the table. "I want all of you to do one finale check of your dragons. We leave soon."

At his last comment, all the riders stood. Pushing my chair back I prepared myself to leave, but stopped at the sound of my name being called out. Turning my head to gaze over my shoulder, William gazed at me with no emotion.

"I need a word with you."

Nodding, I waited for the rest of the men to leave. Once it was only William and I left inside the off white tent, I turned my attention to him. Opening my mouth to speak I was caught off guard as his hands gripped the base of my neck, and his lips found solace on my own.

I couldn't move. My mind had become empty and as my thoughts muddled into incoherent sentences, I found myself kissing him back. Every fibre in my body set alight as his lips began to move over mind, eliciting a small moan to fall from his lips.

Placing my hands on his chest, I gently pushed back. My body felt like it was on fire by his actions, and the more I tried to find my words I couldn't. Instead I just gazed up into his sky blue eyes. Up close I could see the turmoil that was unfolding behind them.

"I couldn't let you leave without kissing you once last time."

Frowning at his words, I finally found my brain start to work. "We will make it through." I whispered.

Giving me his hundred watt smile, he stepped back. "You better go and make sure Aurora is prepared."

Getting the hint that this conversation was over, I bowed before making my way out of the tent, my body still ablaze from the kiss. Taking in the frozen air, I felt it hit my lungs soothing my racing pulse. Touching my lips with my fingertips, I couldn't help but still feel his lips on mine.

"Enough, Abagail." I whispered. Standing tall, I stalked towards Aurora. Catching sight of me she stood to her full height, her wings stretcher as she moved.

I've been waiting for this moment.

"Riders are you ready!" Shouted William. Moving my gaze to his, he had already situated himself on top of Zor. Shaking his head Zor growled as he lowered his body slightly, his large wings flexing.

Jumping onto Aurora's bent paw, I situated myself onto the plush saddle. Memories from the last time I had flown with Aurora flash in my mind, as I envisioned myself behind Robert once more. Gazing at the back of Aurora's head, I couldn't help but feel his presence near.

Smiling my grip on the saddle tightened.

"Riders!" Came William loud voice.

Shouting in response, a smirk grace his lips. "Let us take back what is ours. Let's fly!"

Our dragons roared in agreement, before pushing themselves off the forest floor and up into the night sky. With the kings guards entrance already known to the palace, it was now our turn to let our presence known.

The burning sting of the frozen air was soon forgotten as I connected myself with Aurora. The night sky become a hue of bright oranges and greens, as I found my vision become bright. Gritting my teeth, I thought about the final death Markus would soon get. "Let's end this."

Lets! Releasing a loud roar from the pit of her stomach, Aurora dipped low as the kingdom came into view.

"Attack!"
