Dipping the rag into the warmed bucket of water, I ran it over my skin to rid myself of the day's dirt. After betting with the soldiers, Talios had taken me under his wing to train me in hand to hand combat. Usually I wasn't one to want to learn this side of fighting, but I knew if I came across Markus I wouldn't always be able to use my bow.

Running the rag across my left shoulder blade, I watched as the water dripped down my mark. I could still see the faint outline of symbols that ran across my riders mark. The more I gazed at it the more I remember the night with Luca. My heart pulled towards him and yet at the same time, it ran for the hills.

I knew I couldn't be happy with him, nor William. I couldn't make them happy. If I chose them I would only hurt them in the long run. Last night I had made my choice on what I needed to do. After helping William get his kingdom back I will leave to fight Toban on my own.

Throwing the rag into the water, I watched the ripples form before floating to the edge of the bucket.

Something is coming Rider... be prepared.

Standing, I looked around for the person whose voice I had just heard but there was no one. There was no trace of someone coming in, as the rope on the inside of the tent was still tied. Frowning, I quickly dressed.

Grabbing my dagger from a small table off to the side, I tightened my grip around the wooden base as I left the showering tent. Once outside, I felt the frozen air hit my freshly washed skin. Shivering I pulled the wolf's skin closer to my body. Making my way to my tent, I passed the hospital and I froze.

Was Luca still in there? Closing my eyes I sighed. I knew I shouldn't be thinking of him but I couldn't help it. Sighing once more, I pulled the flap open. Inside it was warm from the small fires inside the tent. Inside a few men were sleeping, but right now my mind was focused on Luca.

Heading towards the area I was only last night with him, a small smile graced my face as I watched his sleeping face. Unclipping the wolf's skin coat, I was left in my battle gear. Pulling the curtain to block us from the other men, I took a seat on the bed near his chest.

His arms were draped over his stomach, as his chest was still left bare. His scared rider's mark almost seemed to glow today, and I couldn't help but place my hands over the mark. As my skin made contact with his, an image of him screaming flashed in my mind before Toban's grinning face appeared.

With a shocked gasp, I pulled my hand away. I knew my father had done this to him but seeing it only caused me to hurt more. I was the blood creation of a monster. Taking a deep breath, I glanced over Luca's face. He seemed so peaceful in this state like nothing could harm him.

Leaning down, I placed my lips near his ear. "I will get revenge for you, Luca," I whispered.

Pulling back so I could see his face I was shocked that his eyes were now open. His electric blue eyes stared back at me with such warmth. Sucking in a breath I went to move only to be stopped by his hand on my face. His hand was warm as it sent soft sparks down my back. Leaning into his hand I closed my eyes.

"I should go."

"Then why are you still here?" He whispered.

I had no response. My body was working against me. For the second time, I was speechless in his presence. Opening my eyes I softly gazed down at him.

"I know what you have to do, Abagail."

Shocked I frowned. "What?"

Gripping the other side of my face, his eyes danced around my features. "I know the reason you won't fully be with me. Toban told me you are the next great book."
