Both Lapis and Peridot couldn't stop thinking about what would happen after school that day. They awaited each second that ticked by with anxiousness and excitement.
Once the final bell rang, Peridot rushed to her locker to pack her things. She tripped down the stairs and out into the crowded parking lot, where Lapis awaited. Peridot could feel her face flushing a bright crimson color.
Lapis let out a small giggle. "Where do you want to go?" Peridot assumed they were both starving after such a long day of school, and perhaps they should go to a nearby restaurant. "What about Raising Caine's?" Peridot knew how delicious their chicken strips were, and her mouth watered at the thought of them.
"Sure, let's go." Lapis linked arms with Peridot, and the two walked the few blocks to Raising Caine's. They ordered their food and sat down at a small booth, taking tiny, careful bites as to make sure they didn't embarrass themselves by looking like pigs.
"How's school going?" Asked Peridot, immediately regretting how basic that question was. Luckily, Lapis didn't seem to notice. "It's going pretty well. Although, I hate Mr. Rez's class. Sorry to be negative, but he's so strict, and he teaches so slow! It's hard to not fall asleep in there. What about you?"
Peridot laughed. "Not bad. And I totally agree." She attempted to do her best Mr. Rez impression, which made Lapis snort and nearly fall over in a fit of laughter. She managed to catch a small video of it before the show ended. Peridot blushed. Oh my stars, her laugh is so adorable.
After finishing and paying for their food, Lapis and Peridot headed their separate ways to each others' houses. Lapis smiled, "I had a lot of fun, Peridot. Thanks for paying." Peridot smiled back, "Me too, Lapis. And no problem, I'll see you tomorrow!" She waved a final goodbye before Lapis turned the corner.
Once at home, they couldn't stop thinking about each other. Lapis sent Peridot the video she had taken of her hilariously amazing Mr. Rez impression.

That night, they both slept easily, satisfied with that day.
