"Well, bye now!" Lapis forced an uncomfortable smile and shut the door behind Peridot after she left, collapsing onto the floor in front of it in sheer embarrassment. She put her face in her hands. "Oh my god...I can't believe that almost happened..." Her face was still red and warm.
Peridot couldn't move. She couldn't say a word. As soon as she got home, all she did was stare blankly at the wall in front of her; Lapis's lips against hers were all she could think about.
She took a deep breath and prompted a text message in her head for what probably took ten minutes before actually typing it out word for word and hitting send.
Lapis felt her phone vibrate in her pocket.
September 11th, 9:01PM
Peridot: Hey, wanna meet up tomorrow after school? We can finish what we started, if you'd like.
She held her breath for whatever reason, face twisting up into a huge grin, forcing herself to hold in a joyful scream.
September 11th, 9:02PM
Me: Sure, can't wait to see you then ;)
"A winky face...? What the hell am I doing?" Lapis couldn't stop smiling, her heart threatening to beat right out of her chest.
Neither of them slept that night, both too infatuated with the other to care about a stupid good night's sleep.
The next morning, Peridot awoke on only four hours of rest, but she was still more than ready to get the school day over with and meet Lapis. They'd agreed to wait for each other by the cafeteria as soon as school ended to..."finish what they started".
Author's note: sorry I haven't published any new chapters in awhile, but I hope you somewhat enjoyed this. I'll try to be more consistent.
