Peridot swallowed thickly as Lapis opened her apartment door with a creak. She had been worried she'd go to the wrong one. Wow.

Lapis smiled anxiously and let Peridot in. She was only dressed casually in a tee and pair of yoga pants, but she looked stunning no matter what.

Peridot let herself in, toeing off her shoes and taking a seat on the couch. "I like your place."

"Thanks, it's nothing much." Lapis wiggled in beside her. "So, which movie did you wanna watch? I rented these." She displayed the multiple films she'd rented earlier.

Peridot pointed to one, stretching and yawning and removing her hoodie.

"Sorry, is it too hot in here?" Lapis shoved the video into her VCR.

"Nah, 's fine." The blond fixated herself underneath a blanket instead.

Still nervous, Lapis plopped down beside Peridot, shivering slightly.

Peridot noticed her discomfort and offered part of the blanket, which Lapis took as she snuggled closer to her. Peridot's face felt warm. Her heart was going a million beats per second as Lapis leaned her head onto her shoulder.

Lapis felt the other tense beneath her. She jumped up. "Sorry! Was that too much? I'm just a little tired, and I thought—"

Peridot straightened her glasses and chuckled, wiping some sweat from her forehead. "Don't worry about it, I didn't mind at all!"

Lapis scratched the back of her head and began to move back to the couch. "Alright then, I guess we can just get back to—woah!" She fell onto Peridot's lap, faces only inches away from one another.

Peridot felt herself relax as her eyes fluttered shut, face bright red. They both began to lean in, until suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Ugh! Who the hell could that be?! Lapis slowly drew herself away to go and answer the door. She thanked whoever it was and returned seconds later, angry, flustered, and a box of pizza in her hands. She smiled warily and cleared her throat. "S-sorry about that. Pizza's here, though, if you're hungry." She grabbed herself a slice and sat on the opposite side of the couch, both of the girls awkwardly taking small bites here and there, trying not to focus on what had just almost barely happened.
