I Have to Tell You

Chapter 3

The blue haired girl had been in Peridot's dreams that night. In those dreams, images of her drinking a soda popped up, and she would ask Peridot if she wanted a sip. Peridot always said yes, but then her dream would end; this went on the entire night.

Peridot awoke with a splitting headache, and decided to take some Advil before breakfast. She looked into the mirror, a tired baggy-eyed face stared back at her. She fixed her hair and turned on the T.V., but she couldn't seem to focus.

The soda dream with the blue haired girl kept appearing. Peridot desperately tried to watch the news, but she just couldn't make the thoughts go away. Maybe I'm still dreaming. She pinched herself hard, and she felt it.

Get out of my head-, wait, I didn't catch her name, did I? Peridot abruptly sat up from her couch, perplexed. I have to know what her name is. She didn't know why, but suddenly Peridot felt the absolute need to know this girls' name.

She looked through almost every social media site for what seemed like endless hours, but nothing turned up. Peridot sighed and flopped back into the cozy embrace of her couch. She didn't know where to start, where to look, who to go to or anything. Surely she has friends at school that I can ask. Or I can just ask her myself...

Peridot didn't know why, but that last thought of confronting the blue haired girl personally and asking her name made her flush with embarrassment. It'd be too awkward...and I'd have to find the right time...ugh. Lost and confused, Peridot stared blankly out her window, seeing pedestrians passing by the roads and trees dancing in the wind.

Suddenly, in a small crowd walking along the sidewalk, Peridot saw the blue haired girl. Her face went completely red as she hid herself behind two nearby pillows. She timidly peered back outside, one pillow in each hand just in case. The blue haired girl slightly turned her head in Peridot's direction, almost making eye contact.

Peridot once again hid behind the pillows and stayed for a good 30 seconds. She looked outside to catch where the blue haired girl could've been heading to, but she was already gone.
