Lapis figured she'd worry Peridot a bit before texting her back. She smirked and began taking notes, trying her best not to tune out her teacher's droning voice.

Me: Haha, it's ok. I was just messing with you.

Lapis strutted out of class, feeling a sense of confidence in her step. Her cheeks dusted red as she spotted Peridot at the door beside hers, walking out of her class. "Hey, Peri—"
Wait, who was that girl she was with? And why were they laughing and touching so much? Lapis felt her heart drop into her stomach with every playful punch and giggle the other girl gave to Peridot.
Lapis choked on a lump of tears just as Peridot saw her, trying to catch up as she turned around and sped away to her next class.
