Chapter 17
Claira woke up to the door opening and light flooding into the room. She looked at the person to see that it was Angel. He had quietly closed the door, making sure no one was behind him, and turned on the rooms light.
"You'll be getting out soon, Claira. I've spoken to Zimed. He'll be helping me get you out. But you can't say a word when you see him. At least, not until you are out of the building. We might get you out today though," Angel whispered to Claira.
Claira was speechless. The thought that she could see Zimed soon, possibly that day, made her extremely happy. She couldn't wait to get out of that place. It was so dark, cold, and lonely. She wanted to be with Zimed. His warm arms wrapped around her. It seemed almost unbearable to think about.
"Don't worry. I'm going to get you out of here. I promise," Angel whispered, even more softly.
"I know," Claira said, those being the only words that she could find to say.
Angel had a sweatshirt on and he reached inside the pouch of it and pulled out a small bag of chips and bottled water, after making sure that the camera was off, which it was.
"I figured you were hungry," Angel said, walking up to Claira.
He kneeled down, set the food beside Claira, and pulled out a pocket knife, and cut the cloth that had bounded Claira's hands and feet together. Once the cloth was off her hands and feet, she realized how much the cloth was her hurt and how tight they were. She rubbed her wrists and ankles, which lessened the pain she had felt.
"Thank you," she said, grabbing the food Angel got her.
"It's no problem. It's the least I could do for bringing you here," Angel said, looking away.
Once she had finished eating, Angel took the trash away from her and stuffed it into the pouch of his sweatshirt.
"Now go to sleep. I'll wake you up when it's time for you to escape," Angel whispered.
He got up from the ground. He turned off the light and left the room, quietly shutting the door behind him. Claira stared into the seemingly nothingness and then did as she was told and fell asleep.
