Ch. 12 Part 1 Charlotte’s POV
Kyle was my hero today as he decided to drive. Apollo had gotten an Escalade for our road trip and I was politely granted the passenger seat because I was the only woman. Apollo sat in the third row of seats talking very closely with Hephaestus and Hades and Dionysus sat in silence behind Kyle and I. The only person who could actually tolerate Dionysus for a long amount of time was Apollo but he was in a deep conversation and so for the first time Dionysus sat in complete silence playing on his I-pad. Some music was playing softly and my bottom was sore after three hours.
For about the first two hours the Gods in the backseats went over how to play about five different types of games and I just ignored them. I wouldn’t be with them gambling, I didn’t like gambling or drunkards so Vegas was not exactly where I wanted to be. Kyle I think was going to play for a little bit but he was pretty adamant that he wouldn’t get carried away. I didn’t mind if he gambled once in a while, I know it’s not a problem with him.
“Do you wanna go ahead and take a small nap Char? We’re going to be arriving soon.” Kyle said and I nodded my head. A nap would be more comfortable if I could rest my head in his lap but that wasn’t going to prevent me from even trying.
“Sure, I’ll try.” I murmured and Kyle squeezed gently my hand that he was holding.
“Charlotte? Char, we’re here.” Kyle said softly his hand cupping my cheek and I opened my eyes to the feather soft touch of his thumb gliding across my cheek. I smiled softly and I watched as his eyes sparkled and he took a step to the side revealing the grandiose entrance, I unbuckled stretched my arms over my head as I took in the front entrance of Caesar’s Palace, behind me were the giant fountains and with the breeze I could feel the soft sprinkle of water on my face. Kyle reached to grab my hand and was watching me.
“Okay. I’m ready.” I murmured and he smiled kissing my forehead before leading me past the valet stand were the employees were waving enthusiastically at us. Entering the open doors we made our way up a giant and intimidating stair case to the front entrance area. The design was an interesting smash of modern and Roman design although the Romanesque qualities were not as accurately portrayed as they should have been. I immediately spotted Apollo, who was at the front desk flirting shamelessly with the attractive brunette behind the counter. I ignored their conversation and rested against Kyle, his arms wrapped loosely around me and I had my hands stuffed inside his sweater pockets. I watched as Apollo finally got all our keys and he winked at her in goodbye.
“What a slut.” Dionysus murmured as he passed by me and I smiled untangling myself from Kyle to the point where only our fingers were intertwined.
“That’s a term more used towards insulting women…” I pointed out and stopped speaking when Dionysus raised an eyebrow at me. I just looked back at Apollo who walked over to us and held out three keys.
“Okay. So I’ll room with Charlie-“
“As if.” I cut in and Apollo frowned at me pouting, but his bright baby blue eyes were laughing.
“Fine. I’ll room with-“
“Me!” Dionysus cut in and Apollo rolled, his eyes a small smile adorning his chiseled face.
“Okay and then Hades and Hephy will share a room.” Apollo continued running a hand through his sunshine hair as he winked at a woman who walked by, her giggling floating to our ears.
“Don’t call me that.” Hephaestus said in his deep voice and Apollo’s attention redirected itself towards us and he pouted once more.
