So you can keep me,
Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans.
Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet.
You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home.

{Clarys POV}

When Maryse lets me into their long hallway i look around at each expensive ornament and wonder if it's the last time I'll see them arranged like this. If it's the last time i'll see them ever.

"Clary?" Isabelle appears from the livingroom in slouch pants and a baggy t-shirt. Not very Isabelle at all.
She wraps her skinny arms around me "I heard about you and Jace, i'm so sorry." She really shouldn't be, when we're we not having problems? I let her hold me anyway purely because i missed my best friend. I missed the old Isabelle.

"Thanks izzy, i'm here to see you though." I mumble against her long, dark hair and she nods, pulling away from me and taking my hand to lead me into the livingroom. I sit in the same seat in which this whole crazy scenario began and watch her tuck her legs under her, gripping onto one of her mothers fluffy pillows.

"It's about Jem." I get straight to the point "He's a good guy but he doesn't love you and to be honest Isabelle i don't think you love him either."
She shrugs, giving me a look like she doesn't give a shit.

"What's love got to do with it?" She asks and whatever i was about to say next gets caught in my throat "Do you really think love is worth it? I mean, has it done you any good?" I catch a glimpse of their family portrait on the mahogany drawer behind the couch and the blonde boy among so much dark.

"I think you should at least talk to Jon. He's an asshole but he loves you." I ignore her previous statement because I'm not sure how to answer it. Her chocolate brown eyes blink at me and her face softens.

"Why didn't he tell me as soon as he knew, why didn't you?" She wipes at a single tear that escapes her, Isabelle hated crying infront of people.

"He was scared. He'd just got you back and he was going to have to tell you he was leaving again. I thought it would be better hearing it from him." I explain and i think she seems to understand.

"What's the point in trying to fix it now when you leave in ten days?"

"Well, we won't be gone forever." I point out, smiling at her and after a while she smiles back.

"I'm going to really miss you Clary. You're the closest thing to a sister i've got." She whimpers and flies across the couch to tackle me in another hug. That was the problem with leaving the Lightwood family behind, they we're like family.

"Are you two alright?" Alec peers at us from the hallway and Isabelle tells him everything is just fine. He looks like he has a hard time believeing her just as Jace wanders into the hallway too wondering what all the commotion is about. Isabelle just laughs, untangling herself from me.

"Jonathans," she mumbles "they ruin everything." Before she goes she gives me a cheeky grin and sinks straight into Alecs open arms. Those two had a connection i would never understand, like they were twins.

"You here to see me?" Jace leans against the doorframe in the livingroom, his hands stuffed into the back pockets of his jeans to stop them from fidgeting most likely. I'm suprised when he looks happy to see me.

"No actually, i was here to see your sister." I stand up, straightening out my plain t-shirt. He straightens up in the doorway and takes a step inside with a curious look on his face.

"What?" I ask, looking behind me like he's seen a ghost but he keeps on looking.

"Nothing it's just, i just realised how abnormal this will be someday." What the hell was he talking about?
"What will?"
